Solid QBs rarely win championships, you need at least a very good player there or the rest of the team has to be outstanding to compensate.

Cleveland wont be winning SB anytime soon... they just need to win games and be competitive. They have plenty of time. Solid QB is all they need right now.

It's not like there were any prospects at the QB position in this draft that could be franchise player. I don't like how the sports media and fans think cleveland have to draft a QB since a rookie didn't lead the Browns to a winning season that ended with a championship. Analysts are already saying Kizer will be a project, just like Kesslar is, and if he doesn't perform like a franchise QB this year, then they will say Cleveland needs a QB in next year's draft. While I understand why Cleveland chose him, I would have rather they get a CB or RB and see how Kesslar does this year and draft one of the better prospects next year. What Cleveland need now is stability at QB position, and Kesslar can be that stabilizing QB till a viable franchise QB pops up.

Nobody knows what'll happen 3-4 years from now. In the NFL you can compete for a title a few years after sucking. A franchise QB can turn a 4-12 type of team into a 12-4 team fairly quickly. If they think Kizer has a shot at being a franchise QB he's definitely worth a 2nd round pick. Wasn't long ago Kizer was a projected top-5 overall pick so obviously some people think he has the potential. Kessler is extremely unlikely to ever become better than a mediocre to average QB and the Browns seem to have whiffed at getting Cousins or Garrappolo, the later of which I think is another Matt Flynn anyway.

So far we took one of the top 3 CB's and a top 5 safety. Nice to see we're trying to address our secondary. Still need a LB tho. Teams carved us up down the middle.

Yeah they need to end their revolving door at QB, they must be the worst team in the NFL over the last 17 years at scouting QBs.

Compete for a division. They have so many glaring holes right now that QB isn't one of them. The revolving door of QBs is not helping anything. It shortens the development of these guys as fans and the team grow inpatient rather fast wanting results and they go on to the next guy. Kessler was a rookie last year who was thrown in and looked alright. That's with crap protection and sub-par offensive players to work with.

Another offensive weapon for Winston to throw to. Now they've drafted a TE and WR - O.J. Howard and Chris Godwin in the first three rounds. The Bucs already had a very good receiving core before the draft.
