The judge makes the ruling monday.

Seems she will side with the players to lift the lockout BUT she probably wont actually lift the lockout while the owners are appealing which they automatically will.

The NFL has released the names of the 25 rookies that will attend the draft:

Quarterback Cam Netwon, quarterback Blaine Gabbert, cornerback Prince Amukamara, defensive tackle Corey Liuget, linebacker Akeem Ayers, linebacker Von Miller, defensive end Adrian Clayborn, safety Rahim Moore, receiver Randall Cobb, defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, cornerback Patrick Peterson, defensive tackle Nick Fairley, center Mike Pouncey, defensive end Aldon Smith, receiver A.J. Green, tackle Tyron Smith, linebacker Mark Herzlich, defensive tackle Phil Taylor, running back Mark Ingram, guard Danny Watkins, defensive end Cameron Jordan, defensive end JJ Watt, receiver Julio Jones, running back Ryan Williams, and defensive end Ryan Kerrigan.

I'm going to be curious how they do this. Some of those guys won't be picked the first day. It's very unlikely Williams, Moore, or Cobb will be picked in the first day, and it's possible Clayborn, Ayers, Taylor, or Ingram could fall to the second day. I wonder if players that aren't picked the first day will come back on Friday like a couple of guys last year. Herzlich's return from cancer was a great story last season but he's probably not going to be picked until Saturday.

Welp, she sided with the players, but, Im assuming, like you said, til they appeal, it wont actually be lifted.

Tony La Russa’s daughter is an Oakland Raiders cheerleader

Quote:
La Russa's daughter, Bianca, successfully tried out for the team's cheerleading squad last week and will be a Raiderette in the upcoming season. (If there is an upcoming season, that is.)
She tweeted the news last week: "A goal and a dream come true- I'm a 2011 Raiderette! I'm so excited to rep an organization that does so much good."

Not bad

I would expect plenty of players to show up at team facilities today. Right now the teams can't keep the players out so some players are going to try and trigger workout bonuses by showing up to work out, and if the team refuses to let them work out they can later sue if the team refuses to pay their bonus. Jets tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson has a $750,000 workout bonus and plans to show up today to try and trigger the bonus and give him the option to sue later.

I've read dozens of articles about yesterday's court decision and what is going to happen going forward and I'm more confused than ever. Some people think that the court is unlikely to issue a stay while others think the judge's ruling makes a stay unlikely and we could have free agency and trades as early as this week. If that happens what will the rules be though? It's incredibly confusing and I got a headache from reading so much legal writing.

This whole thing is way too confusing. I'm just going to sit back, wait, and watch.

All I hope is that they get free agency or at the least player trades up before the draft. I think a lot of moves could happen and will (Specifically Kevin Kolb) if they can trade players. Without it I see a pretty steady draft with less than 3 trades in the first round.

Same, and thats not even getting into the clubs still trying to keep the weight rooms closed which gets into the work out bonuses and all that. I've decided to just wait and have NFLTA explain it to me

A few of the Cowboys worked out today and Stephen Jones was spotted driving by the facility with a grin on his face. Guessing a lot of the guys around the league who worked out today did indeed do it for the potential to sue, we'll see I guess.

Albert Haynesworth was indicted Tuesday on a misdemeanor sexual abuse charge stemming from an incident in February.
After dining at the W Hotel in Washington, Haynesworth allegedly "grabbed and caressed" his waitress' breast. Her hands were full, so she granted Haynesworth request to slip his credit card into her shirt. Upon receiving the green light, Haynesworth apparently stole second base. A conviction could result in up to 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

Default Tampa Bay Buccaneers news and notes

I am a huge Bucs fan that lives in WV and have no friends who are into the Bucs here(Steeler country) so I thought I would hit up my blu ray brothers to see if there where any Buc fans here to discuss te team. I thought we could post rumors, news and everything Buc.

Please no haters if you are not a Bucs fan no need for negative comments.

What are you thoughts on the upcoming draft? I read they might trade Josh Johnson to the 49ers, what would we get in return? Thoughts on Talib, I hope they keep him we are thin at cb.

It's called diversion, no doubt they wanted to talk to him about the lock-out so he talked about something else completely different to fill his time and then move on.

I can't recall ever seeing any Bucs fans in this thread. As for Josh Johnson, currently trades aren't allowed but it's possible trades will be allowed in the next few days if the judge refuses to stay the lockout. Johnson doesn't have much trade value, he's never shown any real promise and was pretty bad in 2009 when he got some real playing time, so I'd guess all the Bucs could get is a 2012 fourth or fifth round pick.

I think the Bucs will release Talib. He's had so many chances and screwed up too many times. He may be the Bucs best defensive player but he's just been too much trouble. He's probably looking at an eight-game suspension regardless of how this case ends up. Somebody else will pick him up and give him a chance but he's going to be down to his last chance. Regardless of how talented he is you can't have a guy that routinely gets arrested and into fights with his teammates.

Ok then thats why they let him go... It would have been the dumbest move ever to get rid of him if he wasn't going to be suspended.
