If any of us were protesting on the job we'd be fired immediately.

I love how people keep comparing football to a normal job it's not. I'm sure if you look into a lot of players they continue the cause in different areas but remember this is a chance to connect with million of people. Everyone keeps saying there is a time and a place for this just not before a game. When and where people don't get to avoid racism and police brutality in real life why should we avoid this. Donald trump is a major factor in this whole thing, he stirred it up he made it stay in your place boy and that's bullish!t. People shouldn't be belittled for trying to make the world better, even if some people decide it doesn't affect me so it doesn't matter.

These were some pretty unpopular moves at the time, but in hindsight they've turned out to be solid.
He goes home to Jessie James so he gets no sympathy from me.

Having said that, once the game gets started and they're actually playing football, I'm happy.
Agreed. That's why I wait a few minutes after kick off before I watch any game now.

Can we leave out all the political rhetoric in here, please? I see enough of it elsewhere.

Peterson will end up on the Fudgepackers and light up the NFC. It's the Vikings curse.

AP to the Cards. I hope he does well there.
Maybe, but most great backs tend to fall of cliffs especially when the injury count mounts. QB is practically the only position where players can stay elite in their 30's.

A job is a job, period! The scope, scale and salary might differ but at the end of the day NFL players get paid to play, not to protest. Keep them in the locker room where they can kneel to their hearts desire with no cameras.
The media is the only thing keeping this going.
Most of these guys are taking a knee for a camera and it ends there. That clown Kaep showed the world this: no personal time spent on “spreading the word” last season, pig socks and bragged on social media about not voting. He’s an idiot.
Whereas guys like Anquan Boldin and Malcom Jenkins are actually out doing things....on their time...to help bring about awareness.

They still do there jobs to the fullest capacity and this takes place before the game starts. So the problem isn’t kneeling it’s giving them attention for it? Kap has down a ton of social work so I don’t understand the hate https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/c...le-of-somalia/ here is a nice story of him sending water and food to Somalia. And here’s one about him giving suits to parolees looking for jobs https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.b28c38936db3. There are a lot of evil people in this world and to lump him in because he took a knee is ridiculous. As for doing a Job how about a president who spends his mornings tweeting about football and not doing his job. The guy who stirred this whole thing up again.

The protests are stupid and pointless.

Peterson trade made sense - and this is one I called for a few weeks ago.

There are numerous employers that have a rule where you can't talk about sex/religion/politics. Even if you are working hard to the fullest capacity along with your buddies, some things can't be talked about. This is no different. Do it on your own time.

Kaep did a lot of work AFTER he made the mistakes I listed. Come on, let’s be honest here, even he didn’t know this thing would blow up this big. Which is why he was so nonchalant about it last season.
As for employers, many don’t allow political protests in the workplace because they are so divisive.
