The regime that needs changing is the ownership though. The NFL should have never approved Haslem's ownership to begin with. They knew he was a shyster from the get go.

Browns dropping the ball on McCarron is legit the most Browns thing I've ever heard. Good grief.

Some crazy trades on deadline day though.

You can’t argue that.

So in a about a 10hr span, Dallas loses Zeke and Philly gets Ajayi.

For FF, I’m a bit conflicted. Have Ajayi and Benjamin on one of my teams.
Ajayi will get two bye weeks, and Benjamin will get none.

Ajayi, sounds like Blount will be the short yardage/goal-line back.

Broncos are making a change at QB and starting Osweiler this week. I'd assume that Paxton Lynch will become the starter once he's fully healthy because the Broncos need to figure out if he's the potential long-term answer or if they need to make a move in the offseason.

Wentz of course!
The brass is saying Blount, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Ajayi got the bulk of the carries. Denver may be suspect on offense, but their defense is among the best in the league, especially their run defense. Couple in the fact I have(and really need) Ajayi in FF, I’m guessing the narrative on Monday morning will be about Ajayi only finishing with 12 rushing yards on 32 attempts.

This is shaping up to be a very good defensive game. Field position will be important, and turnovers will be the game.

TV ratings are down in the NBA and MLB in recent years as well due to new technologies allowing people to view games by other means. Aside from the NFL teams that moved cities (namely the Rams and Chargers) NFL attendance is doing just fine too.

I know the poll you're talking about and that too has repeatedly been debunked.

I am not disputing any of this. I was speaking in general terms. I have read the same things you guys have read, regarding viewership on the whole, streaming, the effect of the anthem protests. When I was speaking of terms of fans be "turned off" by the anthem protest, I didn't mean they were literally turning off their TV's for that reason, I meant they are annoyed with it, as a lot of us have stated in this thread. It has no effect on me whatsoever as far as continuing to watch NFL games but I am annoyed at the story as a whole, tired of hearing about it week after week which is how I think a lot of fans feel about the issue on the whole.

From what I have read, while yes TV viewership is slipping and streaming is up and/or steady, a lot of networks and advertisers still cling on to the old, established ways of measuring via Neilsen ratings. Now I am sure they will sort that all out eventually but until then, owners are legitimately concerned. Did anyone read the story about the league and player meeting from a couple weeks back? Jones, is the de facto leader, and he is certainly concerned. I am sure others are too but they let him take the lead. There was even a story this week about ESPN contemplating not re-upping with the NFL for MNF games when their contract expires, though I don't blame them because MNF games aren't marquee matchups anymore. I'm not saying anyone needs to hit a panic button but they need to do something about it. Nothing is getting resolved and they keep just pushing it off to the next meeting and each passing news story on the matter is just a distraction. (The whole McNair thing was a poor choice of words. I don't want to get into it but has no one EVER heard that term before? has nothing to do with race)

Which brings me to the following story. One of the leagues biggest, well known sponsors is saying this IS a problem. Back in the day the league would have no problem selling out ad spots but now Papa John's is pulling spots and the league is having to GIVE them future spots (essentially money).

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...nthem-protests

Personally, none of this effects me. I enjoy football and will continue to watch but there is a problem and if they don't address it now it will catch up to them in a couple of years.

I always thought protesting at work was called a picket line.
The owners made their bed with not nipping the Anthem protests in the bud last season, so now they have to lay in it. I don’t feel sorry for them one bit.
Now are ratings down, solely for protests, I don’t think so. The game, as a whole, this season(outside of a few good games) has been pretty meh. Maybe that is a result of the parity the league strives for? But what I do know, the Anthem protests are not helping and have become divisive on many different levels. They have become so convoluted that I don’t know who is kneeling for what cause anymore.
NFL is the goose that lays the golden eggs. Everyone involved with the NFL makes a ton of money. That money is now being threatened on several different fronts. Folks, when that happens hard decisions need to be made. There are plenty of other sports out there, and seemingly infinite amount of other entertainment options for sponsors and fans to take their money. Tread carefully NFL.
One parting question: at this point who isn’t aware of social injustice?
I think most everyone, who is anyone, knows. We got it! Check! Point taken! Now it’s time to get off your knee and actually go out and do something. How about that? Do something on YOUR time, and on YOUR dime.
Just an idea.

Pats get back a QB who is probably good in their system. 2nd rounder not that bad then considering Jimmy G could've left for nothing.
