That is within the confines of the game and rules can be enacted, and to an extent have been. So no worries there.
Sure keep thinking on it and turn off more fans.
Hey as an avid NHL fan, we will gladly take some NFL run off. Yes sir, all day long.
As would all the other Pro sports.

Except now im seeing players kneel in the NHL as well its not as rampant as the NFL only like 1-2 players but still thats how it starts. Nice thing is the NHL isnt bringing attention to it.

And the NHL put the kibosh on that right away. They don’t do NFL revenue, and they know it. They know they have to do things better than the next guy to gain new fans, and keep the current ones.

The funny thing is you think nfl player care if they turn off fans.

There are ways of compromising so everyone wins in this but if you tell people what to do it’s gonna end badly.

NBA put out a memo saying all employees of the league had to stand. Has the world ended? Nope.
NFL players will very much care if revenue continues to drop. Why do you think the owners are acting like an agitated bee hive? Those guys are pretty smart when it comes to making, and keeping, money. They can see where this road leads if unchecked.
Players are paid to play, not protest. They have all the time in the world outside of the NFL cameras to protest. How is this not compromising?

How are people still discussing this in here? We already know where most of us stand on the issue. We also know a lot of us are tired of seeing it discussed in here. I come in this thread to discuss football, not hear about which sjw is whining during the anthem this week. This site is supposed to be politics free and yet this discussion continues.

It’s only the biggest story in football. I don’t see how it’s off topic.
I wish I could alter thread discussion on many other threads here, but it’s a thread for everyone.
If you don’t like it, just tune out.

To me the biggest story in football is the silliest and most influential owner in the league using all of his power to screw with Goodell. It will amuse me to no end if he actually gets the worst commissioner in American sports removed.

To me that’s a non-story, so do I get to ask you and others to not talk about it? Of course not. It’s on topic.
And if you bothered to read my initial post, I mentioned a few things that are viewed as problematic for the NFL. Folks just zeroed in on the protests.

You'll care if he gets it done, we have no way of knowing who the next commissioner would be. I do imagine the fall-out, at the very least for Jerry, would be that he gets a lot of his power stripped. It's clear a lot of the other owners are not happy with him shaking the money tree, even if he happens to be right concerning Goodell.

Not at all. I think Goodell has done very good job, with everything he’s had to deal with during his tenure. Did he make some mistakes, sure. So did the beloved Paul “I ran away from the inevitable CTE devastation” Tagliabue.
And the funny thing is even if Jerruh runs off Goodell, he’s running off the guy HE and 31 other owners put in place. So what does that say about them? Lol!

Just curious, what was Jerruh’s stance when Brady was appealing his suspension? Hmmm...
My, my, how the tides have changed.
Or as Cam Newton once famously said: Hindsight is always 50/50!

The next puppet can't be worse than Goodell, right?

The commissioner is just a shield for the owners. He’s the guy that falls on the sword. There’s a reason Goodell makes so much money.

While Paul was running away or retiring, Goodell was in charge of the smear campaign launched against Doctor Bennet Omalu to discredit his work and resist his finding at all cost.

You could pretty much say Goodells handling of the CTE situation was his crowning douche bagness achievement of his career so far imo.

Edit the word “Goodell” with “all 32 NFL owners” and you’re spot on.

Again...Owners say jump, Goodell asks how high.
Any and all power Roger has came directly from the 32 people that put him there.

Edit: it’s why all 32 owners voted, unanimously, to award him a contract extension back in May
But don’t let facts get in the way.

Sounds like Dez probably won't play Sunday. Gotta rest him up for the big NFC East showdown with Philly. Probably don't need him to beat the Falcons anyway.

NBC will be using a lot of SkyCam aka Madden View for next TNF's Titans Steelers. Interesting, but I'll still be seeing Justice League instead.
