Ya, the Dallas defense especially the Secondary has been a very weak spot for quite some time now. I member back in the day when we had Roy Williams, Terrance Newman & even Sanders! [emoji14] But it seems very difficult for the Front Office to piece together a strong defense that can stick around.

That secondary is now quite weak, definitely hurts their chances at a wild card in an NFC that's quite stout this year.

Check the history books, Jerruh was the biggest supporter of Roger over attorney(oh boy not another rollover like Tagliabue) Gregg Levy. Why you ask? I don't hate Goodell just not a fan of how he handles certain situations regarding player behavior. And yes, I know the NFL is a business but it does seem that he runs hot & cold when it comes to awarding punishment. Also, I think how Jerry is handling this whole deal is immature. Focus on the team damn it.

Something had to be done. Tags was great at making backroom deals and rolling over for basically everyone. This is a big reason Goodell was brought in, to clean up all the mess, make the hard choices and take all the heat. Now he wants to be paid for it. I don’t blame him one bit.
As for the hot/cold. Go back to my example of the judicial system. Judges are rarely consistent with their sentencing. It’s all case by case. They can hand down a sentence to the extent of the law, as does Goodell. Every case, especially in the NFL(as it’s NOT a court of law) will be different and have a different outcome. I don’t understand why folks think one “crime” will mean the next one will be exactly the same. It just doesn’t work that way.
Now I’m not saying Goodell is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I’m certainly not saying he’s the worst. IMO he’s done a much better job than Tags, to include navigating the concussion issue that Tags(inexplicably in the HoF) ran like a coward from.
I agree with you about Jones. He should be busy scanning the waiver wire for replacement players, not seeking press all the time. Subtract the 3 Championships(Switzer was a puppet that inherited Jimmy’s team) that Jimmy won and Jerruh really hasn’t done much on the field. On the business side, oh yeah he’s lights out, but the product he’s worked with sans Jimmy(and now the salary cap) have been mediocre, at best. So yeah I would think his time, as GM, would be better spent in the film room. But we all know that ain’t gonna happen, much to my joy!

It’s going to be a good game. Division matchups usually are.
Even though all the pundits are calling for Philly to roll, I’m not so sure here. Last season Philly was 3-0 then had a bye then lost and lost, and lost some more. So I’m not taking anything for granted. Both teams have a lot of key people that won’t be on the field.

Pewter Report’s Scott Reynolds believes there’s "interest on both sides" between the Bucs and Jon Gruden.
Gruden has been out of the league since getting fired from Tampa in 2008. He’s turned down multiple offers from teams, but hasn’t ruled out a return to coaching. With Dirk Koetter on the hot seat, it’s possible the Bucs reunite with Gruden after the season. Tampa has a franchise quarterback in Jameis Winston and a playoff-caliber roster. There’s behind-the-scenes rumors the Bucs are the job Gruden wants.

Personally I would never go back somewhere I got terminated but I guess Gruden has different views on that than I do.
