I get playing Webb, but Geno?

Didn't even know they have Geno. Don't really get why Eli doesn't get to finish out the season, it's not like people haven't seen what Geno can (and mainly can't) do. Sounds like typical McAdoo incompetence and the front office is just running the clock til they get to cut him loose.

Giants should just release Eli at this point. It's not out of the question that a team like the Jags might claim him on waivers and save the Giants some cash.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said he will bench Tom Savage if he continues to commit so many turnovers.

"It has to get corrected," O'Brien said Tuesday. "If not, we'll have to go in a different direction." Savage has committed 12 turnovers in six appearances, including a mind-boggling seven lost fumbles. He lost a fumble and tossed two picks in Monday's loss to the Ravens while generating zero touchdowns. Savage has arguably been even worse than expected. The problem for Houston is that, unless they're willing to sign Colin Kaepernick, an upgrade won't be walking through that door. In-house "option" T.J. Yates would probably be worse than Savage.

Good for Eli on declining to keep starting. I can see Coughlin snatching him up for Jax next year to be a stopgap between whoever they draft as their QB of the future as everyone knows Bortles is an absolute bust. With their strong defense and rushing attack they are just a QB away from being a contender in the AFC.
But yeah, starting Smith over Webb makes no sense.
Back to Eli, I can see Denver making a run at him too since their QB situation is questionable too. I could also envision Denver making a run for Cousins though I don't know their salary cap situation. Could also see Alex Smith going there too. I know its popular to crap on him now but I've always liked him. He was never stellar but solid, you could count on him to not turnover the ball. yes he was conservative but he made smart decisions which the Niners hadn't had a smart QB since Young retired (Garcia was mediocre but was a dink and dunk, turnover prone guy). On the rare occasion he scrambled and pulled an amazing play out of his butt you just appreciated it all the more haha.
As far as the Niners it was good to see Jimmy G get some playing time the other day.

Not a Crabtree fan and although I expected a suspension I think his should've been one game as Talib was the instigator in both instances.

Houston as well, nobody knows how well Watson's knee will recover. Also running QBs always become more tentative about planting and exploding after their knee gives out.

I thought about HOU only because of how sh-tty Savage is but I think they are committed to Watson long term. Maybe a one year deal for a vet like Smith as an insurance policy?

Well Manning is on his last legs himself so he should be looking at 1 year deals as well. 15th season in the NFL next year, that's a lot for anybody.

Yeah I think he goes to Jax or Den though due to relationship with Coughlin and Peyton's with Elway.
Jax just needs someone adequate at best in the QB spot and at this point in his career Eli can be that.
