Garoppolo would have to win multiple Super Bowls for the Niners for this trade to even be in the conversation for worst trade of all time. The Cowboys heist for Herschel Walker is the biggest swindle in NFL history by a mile.

Well from a 49er fan, I hope this ends up being the worst trade of all time.

49ers got a steal for sure, but Patriots had no choice. Either get what you can now or lose him for nothing in free agency.

They could've also tried to re-sign him, since Brissett also left. They now have no viable options to take over in the likelihood Brady rides off into the sunset in the next 2-3 years.

He didn’t want to be a backup anymore. They tried getting him to agree to an extension.

There are conflicting reports about the extension though, with supposed "insiders" saying there were never any talks. Obviously Garoppolo wanted to start ( I would think most if not all back up QBs want to be 1st string), but with only 2 starts at the time did he really have that much leverage?

Congrats on the playoff birth, nice to see some new teams in the post season.

Bills have a decent shot but the health of Shady McCoy's foot hurts quite a bit.

To franchise jimmy G is 25 million. To franchise him over 3 years over 90 million. That will be the starting point.

I wouldn't drop $90 mill on him just yet. I'd just franchise him for one year with the Niners just to be on the safe side. If he continues to play at the level he did this season for another year they'll have a clearer idea what they have.

Weirdest thing in this Patriots story to me is this Guerrero guy. The more I hear about this guy the weirder it gets. I typically hate Cowherd but I think he made a fair comparison between Tom Cruise's connections to Scientology and Tom Brady's connection with this quack "trainer/doctor." It comes off really cult-like the way Brady took this guy on and tried to push his dubious methods on teammates. I'm not sure why the Patriots put up with that as long as they did.

I’ve heard other players outside of the patriots who use him and they love the guy. Apparently he is the master of soft tissue injuries and Gronk started working with him this year and has looked great. No idea how it works but tj houshmandzadeh did an interview and swears by the guy but I got no clue. He seems a little weird to me but I don’t take his shit so....

Have you seen John Lynch look at him I’m not sure I’ve ever seen love like that. They are not gonna franchise him they are gonna bend over and bet on Jimmy. Even Charlie casserly you pay him a minimum of 90 million over 3 years. He said he is gonna get a deal near Rodgers who is gonna make 30 million a year. That’s the new starting number thanks to Stafford.

They have tons of cap room next year. Tagging him is the safe play. Just in case.

You’re 100% correct but then he could not sign a long term contract the next year and that would be the last time you could tag him cause a 3rd would be almost 50 million. So jimmy could play 2 years and head somewhere else after that.

The New York Daily News reports Bill Belichick could have interest in coaching the Giants.

This comes after reports of a growing rift between Belichick, owner Robert Kraft, and Tom Brady. Belichick spent the first six years of his career as the Giants' defensive coordinator. The Patriots have denied any fallout with Belichick, but there's rumblings he could force his way out of New England. It would ultimately be surprising if Belichick didn't return to the Patriots in 2018.

In an odd coincidence, I left my parents house today a few miles north of the Falcons stadium and passed the Titans stadium on the way to my hotel. Then tomorrow I will pass directly by the former home of the Rams and the Chiefs stadium.... all 4 teams playing tomorrow.
