Emmitt is like $150+

A lot of them do this because they suck with their money and it's the only thing they can do to earn cash post career. Most athletes are bankrupt not long after leaving their sport.

I think Pete Rose is the most notorious athlete when it comes to autographs. He's signed so much crap over the years his signatures are worth practically nothing.

Well being that he's my favorite player of all time. He wouldn't have to beg me but I'm not paying that amount of money. I'd take a picture or something but autographs as I've gotten older seem pretty worthless.

I want autographs for my collection, not to flip and make buck. So for me, value means nothing. I just don't see why they nee to charge crazy amounts to people who helped made them stars (even if it's to 'fix' their monetary problems).

My favorite thing that I have of an athlete is a picture I took with Andre Dawson when he was with the Montreal Expos. It ended up in a local paper and I still have a copy of it and the picture on my pc and I value that more than getting his autograph. I have a lot of autographs but they just don't mean much to me but for others like you they do.

I think I'd actually prefer photographs more, but I haven't really had any experiences yet where that was an option. The handful of autographs I have was either paid for online, or given to me through-the-mail requests.

I do like having something though of them in their uniform, rather than street clothes.. seems more natural, lol.

Yeah I like having the picture in their uniform. You can show someone who doesn't know much about sports who that is more clearly.

Same here. Most of my autographs have cone from crossing paths with NASCAR fans around town. Growing up in Daytona Beach it's hard to to encounter them at random places during the two big race weeks each year. Bill Elliott, Jeff Gordon (a few times), Dale Earnhardt just to name a few. Unfortunately I only got autographs and no pictures since most of these run ins were in the 80's-90's before everyone had a cell phone.

Jeff Gordon was by far the coolest sports person I ever met. He ate at a small local restaurant a lot when in Daytona. He actually remembered my name after the first time I met him.

ESPN Boston reports Chris Hogan (shoulder) is expected to return for Saturday's Divisional Round game against the Titans.

Hogan has made just one appearance since the Patriots' Week 9 bye, catching one pass for one yard in Week 14 against the Dolphins. Although there are certainly other factors at play, Tom Brady's production somewhat waned during Hogan's absence. Hogan provides sure hands at every level of the field.

Could also be because he's one of the most overrated RB's in history. Virtually any decent RB could have gained similar yardage behind that offensive line.

Landon Collins on Bill Belichick: “The way he runs his organization, I’ve been through that process. I don’t like it. It’s too strict. …. He’s a great winner, he’s a great coach. I don’t know if [his style] is what the organization really wants."

That’s the giants who wants the greatest coach of all time.

He had an insane burst through the hole, fantastic vision and could catch the ball like a WR. Is he the best RB ever? Debatable but he definitely put up HOF and MVP stats during his Cowboys career.

Yup. I've got thousands of signed baseball cards, plus some from basketball and wrestling. Then I've got some photos, BluRays, action figures, bobbleheads, baseballs, a Matt Ryan jersey and a football from a few years ago signed by a few Falcons (Matt Ryan, Matt Bryant, Matt Bosher, Devonta Freeman, Julio Jones, Grady Jarrett, Justin Hardy, Jake Matthews).

I've paid for a few items, but usually not much. Sometimes it's entry fees for an event or an older guy through the mail (Brooks Robinson, Don Larsen, Al Oliver, Jim Rice were cheap... Whitey Ford was less so). But everything's for me, so I'm not dropping any major dough or worrying if it might decrease the value.

It’s suppose to be a strict environment.

Stop man. He gained those yards in high school (became the 2nd leading rusher in American high school football history and ran for over 2000 yards twice) and in college (1000 yards in seven games as a freshman) too. When he held out and missed games due to injury his replacements couldn't run the ball behind that same offensive line. I don't know why people love to go this lazy, ill-informed route with Emmitt instead of giving him the respect that he deserves. Emmitt was a great back period.

OBJ would never last a whole season under Bill.

Agreed. I've always said that Emmitt may have made that offensive line more than it made him. They worked great together but none of those offensive lineman weren't much of anything before Emmitt got there and the only one in the HOF is Larry Allen and he didn't arrive until Emmitt had won two rushing titles already. Moose Johnston also deserves tons of credit which Emmitt ALWAYS does. He also played every down. As we know RBs just don't do that anymore.
