Been MIA for about a month as I've been on paternity leave. I'm still a little bitter about the Jaguars losing to New England. I have stayed away from sports news, local news. I even stayed away from conversations with friends about the game. I pretty much lived in my little world the past month but obviously the Jaguars didn't do much in the 4th qtr, but there were some questionable calls in favor of NE that still bugs the hell out of me where my team should of still came out on top despite of limited offense in the 4th qtr. I always rooted for either NE or Denver in the playoffs and when the Jaguars do lose in the playoffs which is usually to New England I have no problem moving on, but this loss is still lingering around a little longer. I now understand why many hate New England. I'm very glad Philly won and congrats to rickah88 and the rest of the Eagles fans on this site.

BTW, my daughter was born on 1/18/18, the picture below was the day before the AFC Championship game when my wife was discharged from the hospital. It's a week I'll never forget. My team is one game away from the big game and we're having our first child. She's the reason why the Jaguars finally made the playoffs. I was hoping she would bring good luck to the team to making it to their first Super Bowl appearance. It wasn't meant to be this year. We'll wait another 20 years for the next opportunity and looking for an exciting season!

Awesome news MaCruz! You will find that once kid(s) enter the equation, everything else kind of takes a back seat.
Enjoy this special time, because that little angel is gonna grow unbelievably fast. Ten years from now you’re gonna be like: Where the heck did the last ten years go!!
Lol!

Well it’s official, Nick Foles has achieved superstardom: he’s mentioned in a Snoop Dogg song:

Nick Foles with it — get it?” Snoop Dog said in his new song Doggytails feat. Kokane. “I be the backup, second in line, see when I get in, you ain’t gettin’ no more time. I’m free as a bird.” The song is part of Snoop Dogg’s eight song EP, which was released earlier this week.

Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

Always interesting when a team trades a young and talented player on a cheap deal. What was he doing behind the scenes?

According to this site:

https://www.sbnation.com/2018/2/23/1...ams-trade-news

Quote:
Why the Chiefs made the trade
The principle reason Kansas City was likely uncomfortable with signing Peters to a long-term deal is his propensity for losing his head on the field.

Peters has been caught on video cursing at fans, and picked up an official’s flag earlier in a 2017 game and threw it into the stands. He left the field, despite not being ejected, and later returned to the field without socks.

He was suspended for a game and there were reports of a heated confrontation with coach Andy Reid.

This offseason, the Chiefs had to decide if the team wanted to pick up the fifth-year option of Peters. With many concerns about his attitude raised — in spite of his charitable actions off the field — Kansas City elected to send him elsewhere while he was cheap and at his highest value.

After trading up to get Patrick Mahomes a year ago, the Chiefs entered 2018 without much draft capital. But sending Peters to the Rams will likely result in a strong package of draft picks headed to Kansas City.
Come to think about it... some of the top CBs from the last few years are extremely temperamental as well: Richard Sherman, Josh Norman, Aqib Talib, Xavier Rhodes, Marcus Peters, all involved in fights and confrontations with players or coaches.

If that episode with the referee and the ensuing verbal fight with Reid was the main cause... they better make good use of those picks, because today it's so hard to find a top CB.

Jonathan Martin is an idiot. He's been detained by police for making a social media post that tagged his former teammates Incognito and Pouncey and his former high school with a caption that indicated some sort of school massacre like revenge. The high school had to be evacuated, believing it to be a threat.

I agree but at some point the guy just needs to man up. He's pushing 30 years old. Just about everyone gets bullied at one point in life. I have and moved on from it. You have to push through it and life your life. I know Incognito is a prick but I'm starting to think maybe the Dolphins were right about Martin with his thin skin being the main problem in that locker room years ago.

Congrats! Very cute. I just hope you aren't setting the little one isn't being set up for a life of sports misery. I've been waiting on the Jags 24 years and counting... I hope they finally win one in her lifetime if not mine.

According to reports, former All-Pro Charles Tillman has graduated from Quantico and is now an FBI agent.

His first assignment will be to go undercover to bring down a group of bank robbing surfers.

Jaguars are giving QB Blake Bortles a new three-year, $54 million deal, worth up to $66.5M with incentives, that includes $26.5M guaranteed, tying him to Jacksonville through the 2020 season, per source.

Jacksonville out of QB market.

The only "out" I see is it's $18 million a season which is mid-range, plus the fact it's only 3 years. Guessing there's an opt-out after 1 season or this is a terrible deal.
