Teddy Bridgewater passed his physical with the Jets.

Two deals across the league were nixed due to failed physicals last week—Ryan Grant with Baltimore and Bashaud Breeland with Carolina—and there was concern that Bridgewater might be in similar danger coming off a serious knee injury. New York's decision to trade up for the No. 3 pick on Saturday further fueled speculation that Bridgewater's deal might be off, though apparently that's not the case. While the Jets have yet to officially sign Bridgewater, sources tell ProFootballTalk that an announcement should be coming shortly.

Hopefully with Cousins and Cook it won't be 38-7 this time.

Not expecting much from cooks because it takes 1 year from the surgery before your knee is good from an acl. Cause acl doesn’t heal they just reattach and scar tissue grows over it. At one year the scar tissue breaks off and the knee really gets going so that opening game might not be his best.

Not true. First everyone heals differently...just look no further than another Vikings RB named AP. Second, since Pro athletes can afford the best care they typically opt for a graft, of either their own ligament(usually hamstring/patellar) or from a cadaver. The biggest hurdle is right after surgery and that’s to avoid infection, or how the body handles the donated ligament. Medical science is advancing so quickly, recovery and rehab times are amazingly fast.

Yeah look at AP stats from that year the second half of the season is when he killed it the scar tissue has to break off. That’s why it’s 1 year. They just did an entire segment on it on NFL network and said word for word what I wrote.

Lol, when you graft, which is what he did, there is very little scar tissue. You’re not trying to salvage the existing ligament, as is probably too damaged.
Medical fact: everyone heals and reacts differently.
The proof will be in the pudding.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Donte Moncrief's one-year, $9.6 million contract with the Jaguars is fully guaranteed.

It is an impressive chunk of change for a player who has managed just 56 catches for 698 yards over 21 games the last two years. He will not be 25 until August, however, and has an impressive skill set. Jacksonville is clearly betting on Moncrief reaching his potential this season. Reading into contract information can be a bad idea, but this deal suggests the Jaguars plan for Moncrief to start.

Jets so dumb. When the draft order is not set that's a trade you make on draft day, not weeks before.

There's already been a report circulating about why they made the move when they did. Perhaps you should read more.

This seems to be coming out of nowhere. I am a little surprised the Ebersol's are doing this as they are close with Vince. Doesn't matter though, they are rushing this to start next year and I am sure it will fail no matter how many former big names they have involved.

The problem I think a lot of fans have with other football leagues is the timing. By the time the Super Bowl ends I'm burnt out on football. From the time camp opens until the Super Bowl I'm pretty much completely obsessed with college and pro football and even though I love football I need a break from the game. I'm not going to jump right into watching a second-tier league featuring a lot of guys I've never heard of or are well past their prime.

The NFL's competition committee is expected to propose a new catch rule that would eliminate the "going to the ground" distinction in addition to reinforcing a high standard for overturning calls via replay, league executive vice president Troy Vincent confirmed Tuesday to the Washington Post.

ESPN previewed the changes on March 8, explaining the committee's options, along with the role that a replay update would play in re-imagining the controversial rule.

New York Giants owner John Mara told ESPN in February that the competition committee agreed that a handful of highly-debated rulings -- including incompletions for Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson in 2010 and Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant in 2014 -- should be called completions moving forward.

The requirements for a catch, under the committee's likely proposal, will include the receiver controlling the ball and establishing himself in bounds. There will also be instruction for officials to define a time element, but it will apply both to receivers who are standing and those who are falling during the process of the catch.

Vincent did not specify that element with the Post and did not immediately respond to a request from ESPN. But former NFL officiating chief Dean Blandino told ESPN recently that it would have to define an act common to the game, such as taking a certain number of steps, in order for officials to call the play consistently.

Some of the problems with the catch rule in 2017 revolved around an inconsistent interpretation of a long-held standard to overturn mistakes that were "clear and obvious," according to the wording in the 2017 NFL rule book.

In the March 8 story, ESPN analyst Bill Polian -- a former competition committee chairman -- suggested the phrasing would be strengthened to "indisputable visual evidence." That change, confirmed by Vincent to the Post, would remind the NFL's centralized game day officiating department that the league doesn't want catches overturned because of slight movement of the ball.

Questions about the catch rule have circulated for years, and the league has made several attempts to tweak it in recent years. The urgency increased this offseason, however, after commissioner Roger Goodell said in January that he wanted it changed.

The committee has spent the past two days working through rule proposals to present to owners when they gather next week in Orlando, Florida. Other topics include the possibility of a targeting rule and changing pass interference to a 15-yard penalty.

So the Jags released the Allen (WR) brothers, and now Marcedes. We're revamping that offense almost entirely kind of like what they did with the defense last season.

EDIT: The one thing I'm questioning after they released Allen Robinson is that the team resigned Marqise Lee, and then release Hurns after? I understand releasing Allen, but not sure about Marqise Lee. I would of like that they spent that extra money or tagging A-Rob, and release Hurns, but not extend Marquise Lee's contract. Lee was even surprised that they are giving him a new contract.

Regardless though, it seems the team is confident with WR's Westbrook, and Cole.

Jonathan Martin has been charged with 4 counts of making criminal threats and one count of possessing a loaded firearm in public. This is related to his incredibly stupid decision to post what looked like an obvious threat to the former teammates he claimed bullied him in Miami. He also sent the social media post to his former high school, causing it to be shut down for a day. And he did this shortly after the Stoneman High School shooting as schools were taking these threats especially seriously. This guy seriously needs help.
