I like football but not enough to sit through (potential) garbage just because it's on
I wouldn't watch those new leagues instead of the NFL, I would be watching them in addition to the NFL.

I don't think they will necessarily be garbage. I love to watch football.

I'm 45 and living in a area I'm not originally from, but I've been to high school games. They are entertaining, exciting, and fun.

I've been to NCAA football games of teams most people have never heard of. Football is fun to watch. It doesn't matter that those guys don't have what it takes to make it to the NFL.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I've been to minor league games and it was great. Those guys may or may not show up in the big league one day. I think it could be the same with those new football leagues. I'll watch them on TV and definitely check on tickets when the time comes.

I'd settle for value like that Alabama WR at the 19 spot.

The Chargers, during the Rivers era, have always been a mystery to me. Go back and look at some of those rosters and it seems, on paper at least, they would’ve been to a few Championship games...maybe even win one or two. A franchise QB, pretty balanced offenses and defenses. Some very good teams during that era.
Now looking forward, one has to wonder when they move on from Rivers?

They have underachieved in recent seasons but I don't think those days of Colts/Chargers playoff games were that long ago, were they? I remember them being kind of a kryptonite for Peyton.

I assume they're gonna draft a QB in a few weeks. I think everyone knows Geno Smith ain't a long-term solution. But hell, if any team should draft a kicker it's them. Had they made a couple of FGs early last season, they probably would've made the playoffs.

They kept a loser GM and fired Schottenheimer. That’s all there is to tell.

Yes I obviously get that this would be in addition to and not instead of but it's like having a nice filet mignon and being offered a plate of scraps and leftovers from the guy at the table next to you. I'm not gonna eat it just because it was offered
College, high school, minor league, are different as the goal of these players is to ultimately make it to their respective big leagues whereas the goals of these two new football leagues is to compete with the NFL.
Though Vince has said that it's not going to happen, at best the new XFL can hope to be is a minor league NFL. You may see a few guys make it that are fun to watch but I don't see this being any different than the first XFL go around. The AAF one sounds even more thrown together than the new XFL venture, which is kind of hard to believe.
To each their own, if you find that enjoy it, more power to you but I don't see these lasting more than a season again. I have doubt the AAF is going to even get going with the short turnaround time they are looking at.

How is this a difficult decision?
Having a terrible defense also undermines the punting game, so maybe they can spend the money on D instead.

It seems like he’s always barking at the refs, but I guess that’s just his competitive nature. Just seems odd he never played in the big game. The GM has done a pretty good job drafting quality talent. They always strike me as team poised to make a run, but never do.

They don't have to go QB just for the sake of it.

I don't understand how folks think Darnold is the be all, end all or that he's gonna play well coming from Cali and playing in the bitter cold of Cleveland.

Darnold has a lot of qualities and the type personality NFL teams love. His mechanics are unorthodox, but his pocket presence, poise, and leadership are top shelf.

If we stay at #12, Derwin James would be a pitch perfect hybrid S/LB in McDermott’s defense.
