There was really no solution that would satisfy everyone. Just curious to see how ratings go this season. I'm not anticipating much of a change but I do wanna see if it's overall up or down over last season.

It’s just trendy to be outraged. The players also know they can use the cesspool that is social media to promote this outrage.

It’s just pathetic IMO. You have a bunch of grown men playing a game they love. And they complain about having to stand united together for the anthem? It’s their job. If I brought any protest into my job, I would be fired. And rightfully so.

I believe in the First Amendment and people’s right to peacefully protest... even if they are ignorant conformists who enjoy being outraged or offended by everything. But in an event like an NFL game where you are being paid millions and the fans are there to support you and provide your salaries, just stand up and go to work like a normal person does. There is no such thing as a job where everything goes the way you want it. That’s life. It ain’t perfect.

Sports are about unity. Not one Eagles player kneeled last year and they won it all. I’m not saying that’s the reason they won, but sports have always been a place where it genuinely doesn’t matter what your race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, politics, etc, you’re all there as fans to escape and be together to support your team.

I never even gave any thought to stupid politics or stupid stuff like this until Kaepernick started kneeling and then a bunch of players followed along. And then the media began to worship Kaepernick and anyone who thought he was stupid was branded a racist.

Again, this is just my opinion, but I have a lot of friends who are vets and some family who served. They cannot stand the unwillingness to just stand for the damn anthem.

I’ve been to multiple hockey games at different arenas and when asked to stand for the anthem, everyone cheers now. Canadians stand for it. Everyone does. It’s about showing respect. It’s so damn simple.

I just hope anyone who complains about this rule understands that it’s also a rule in the NBA... and the NBA has a higher black percentage. Where’s the outrage, y’all?

Enough of this Anthem talk, let's talk about the more important matter at hand.........49ers are bringing back the '94 Jersey as an alternate this year, apparently replacing the all black uniform (this one will be all white). I always like that style and had hoped they would bring it back for a full season, but this will do just fine.

I am a lifelong Niner fan and I hated those unis back when they originally used them in the 90's, ugh. At least they're only going to be used for a couple of games, glad they aren't coming back full time.

I'm not a big fan either, I never liked the black outline around the numbers.

lol... the new XFL is "rising" how? I'd bet my house the XFL doesn't last 2 seasons before folding, just like the last time McMahon wasted huge sums on that money pit.

Ironic how you rant about social media being a cesspool to promote outrage in that overly long-winded rant that could have been summed up in a paragraph or less. I agree that people in positions of responsibility (including the highest in the world) should not engage in playground level antics on social media. Hint hint...

Just keep all the teams in the locker rooms until after the anthem.

It's fairly easy to see. All the NFL is doing is digging themselves deeper graves. The XFL will be all right. If you're basing your typical dismissiveness on it's past, well we know it won't be like that. And actually, the XFL had some good things it came out with in it's original debut.

I’m just a very thorough person who doesn’t like to leave room for error or misinterpretation due to the fact there is no tone in text (which is where things often get lost in translation). It’s only due to my experiences in the past when people will put words in my mouth if I don’t say enough or leave something out.

And I certainly wouldn’t call it a rant. I’m just a free thinking person who’s come to these personal views after years of deep reflection, personal experiences, and gaining insight from many different sides. Again, there’s no tone in text. I literally could not have been calmer while typing that.

But yes, I agree that NO ONE should be on social media to deliberately stir things up... although I can certainly understand the game and strategy behind it.

Not to be a typical Packer fan but I don't think you guys can do it but if the Vikings can do things and try for an SB title so can you guys so more power to ya... just as long as you WIN if you're playing the Patriots in SB
