But Rice was charged. Hunt was not. That’s a huge difference. Regardless of how Rice plead out.

If he’s claimed, that team would absorb his contract. If he goes unclaimed, then he is a free agent.

Just heard Hunt’s interview on the radio. I dunno, it just sounded like canned phrases we’ve all heard a million times before. He’s still young and I hope he’s genuine about fixing himself, but the interview just doesn’t sound like something that’ll help him too much.

He wasn’t cut, he was waived. That way KC isn’t liable for anything and if a team picks him up on waivers, they will absorb the remainder of his prorated salary, which was in the ballpark of $600k for this year, I believe.
That team is just gambling he gets reinstated, doesn’t screw up again, and then lands a stud RB for next to nothing.

Wouldnt be shocked if a ton of teams put in that claim
