What a sad state of affairs that people can't take football as entertainment and take it to THAT level.
Anyone that does that should rightfully go play in the highway.

And the three FGs before that which made up 9 of their 15 points, so rather than get on Trubisky or Nagy/the offense for putting up only 6 points, they go after the kicker.

That’s just dumb fans. Win as a team, lose as a team.
It was a hard fought game, maybe the best of wild card round, and it really could’ve gone either way.

Ball got tipped, wasn't really even Parkey's fault. It's the playoffs, anything can happen. Nagy's reaction was priceless, though.

Bears are a good, young team. They'll be back.

It’s already on the internets. Not sure why they would want to keep it hushed, if that’s even possible.

This is what I've been hoping for, that Foles realizes he's better off playing backup to Wentz than being the central figure in a less-than-ideal situation elsewhere:

Quote:
It's difficult to imagine the Eagles giving up on Wentz or wanting a $20 million backup quarterback. Nor does it seem likely that Foles would return just to sit when he almost certainly would have multiple options to start elsewhere. But he already has learned the fallacy of greener grass; he nearly retired after a failed run as a starter for the St. Louis Rams in 2015. Foles might be the rare player for whom a backup job in the right place is preferable to a starting role in a bad environment.

Foles sounded a bit wistful Sunday night, admitting he has been taking a moment "to reflect" and realize how good he has it with the Eagles.

"I realize that I'm blessed to be able to wear this jersey at least one more week," he said, "and I get to play with these guys one more week."
What are his most realistic landing spots anyway? None of the Florida teams seem ideal. Maybe the Titans decide they've had enough of Mariota? Maybe Oakland deals Carr and takes on Foles for... Nate Peterman... to learn from? Maybe the Lions deal Stafford and take on Foles as a stopgap til they draft someone in 2020 and develop him behind Foles? I dunno. It's not like last year, when the Vikings had the perfect situation and Cousins fleeced them for it.

But of course, money talks. He can get more guaranteed money over a longer period of time going elsewhere, and maybe that's all that matters to him. At this point he's already a Super Bowl MVP, so what else is there to prove? He's got a young family now as well, so maybe that'll convince him to stay in Philly for a bit. Who knows. I wish him nothing but the best. I hope he stays, clearly we need him because Carson's health has been iffy. But no hard feelings if he leaves. It's the nature of the business.

I think a lot of people seems to forget that Foles was seriously considering retirement after his stint with the Rams. Until Reid brought him into KC then he followed Pederson to Philly. We’ve seen it countless times where a player flourishes in a particular system then fails bigtime in a new system.
The question will be if Foles wants to risk failing, again, or be content as one of the best backup QBs ever. Should be interesting to see what happens.

May I recommend the portion of I-480 that stretches from Garfield Heights to Independence? I think that would suit those folks well, especially on a windy day.

Three years after he was hired to manage the team's salary cap, the Detroit Lions have parted ways with vice president of football administration Matt Harriss.

Harriss joined general manager Bob Quinn's staff in 2016, after 10 years with the New York Giants.

According to his bio on the team's official site, Harriss oversaw all aspects of the football side of the business, including player contract negotiations, management of the salary cap and overall compliance with the NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Additionally, Harriss worked on the long-term planning of the team’s finances related to roster construction, as well as future year projections. Harriss worked closely with various departments, regarding operating budgets and overall compliance.

Also:

Dave Birkett from the Detroit Free Press is also reporting that it looks like defensive quality control assistant, Steven Williams has also been let go.

Agreed, but I will say that Harbaugh played that game perfectly by sticking with LJ and not putting Flacco in, that would have been an absolute mess.

It comes down to money. Foles has never had a huge payday in his career, per Spotrac his career earnings are around $32.5 million (I don't think that includes the incentives he's reached this year). Can he really turn down something like $22 million per year with $40-$50 million guaranteed to stick around in Philly as a backup? Either way he'll be rich so it just comes down to whether he wants to have generational wealth but potentially be unhappy or stay in Philly where he knows he's happy but might have to sit on the bench and make much less money.

Foles comes from money. His family owns a big restaurant chain. So maybe cashing in isn’t a big priority, although I would find that hard to believe.
At the very least he will never pay for a meal in the city of Philadelphia.
