There's a couple reasons people have speculated about Payton potentially leaving for Dallas for a while. There was speculation a few years ago that he could want to go there because that's where his kids lived after he got divorced, but they're both out of high school now. Another reason people think he might want to leave is because Saints owner Tom Benson died and now his wife owns the team, and though she says she doesn't plan to sell there's still a sense of uncertainty. Finally there's the money. Payton is one of the highest-paid coaches in the league but it's possible Jerry Jones would be willing to give him a substantial raise.

No amount of money would be worth the lack of control any HC would get coming to Dallas. My guess if Payton was serious about going there he would’ve done it a long time ago.
Dallas is going to be facing some serious salary issues as they are going to have to pay both Zeke and Dak. Not to mention Cooper. Then attempt to keep that OL together. That doesn’t even include any of young talented defensive players that will be looking for deals. These last three years were the Cowboys peak window before all the big contracts come.
It will be interesting to see how it all works out, or doesn’t.

Lol, keep trying to tell ya...it’s not the coach it’s the GM. A meddlesome owner is one of the worst things that can happen for an NFL team.
The best hire Jerruh ever made was Jimmy. Unfortunately his ego can’t accept that and he’s been trying to win “his way” ever since and has failed spectacularly.
But hey, keep on keepin’ on Jerruh. The rest of the division is quite thankful.

We know, the only GM in the NFL I think is worse is Dan Snyder. Jason's just not a HC though, be nice if we can get someone in there with a brain that Jerry would listen to once in awhile.

Snyder actually hires GMs though. The problem with Snyder is he’s too business focused and for years has charged a premium price for an inferior product. It’s only now that the outrage of the fans is finally making headlines.
Washington Redskins voted top 5 worst business in the country. Not football team, business. That’s crazy. Yet the fans keep paying...or Team Danny is cooking the books on the franchise value.

This is a critical time in Dak, Coop and Zeke's development too, the choice of our next OC and HC could well define how their legacy in Dallas will be remembered.

I know it’s a toss up between New England and Cleveland for the mantle of “America’s Team”.

It's going to come down to how much of Jerry's personal fortune can he throw at Payton. Brees is in the twilight of his career, Cooper, Dak and Elliott are all young and probably none of them are in their prime yet. Plus our defense is 2-3 good pieces away from being the force most fans already think they are.

Snyder has been meddlesome in his own ways over the years, but I think the RGIII debacle finally forced him to back off. Not that things have really improved, he's still the owner after all lol

Browns named Joe Whitt as pass game coordinator/secondary coach, Al Holcomb as run game coordinator/LB coach, Chris Jones as senior defensive assistant, Tosh Lupoi as DL coach, John Lilly as TE coach, John Parrella as assistant DL coach and Jeff Blasko as assistant OL coach.

TE Ben Watson is out Sunday for the Saints with appendicitis. If he can avoid surgery he should be available for the Super Bowl if the Saints win. Watson has already announced he's retiring after the season so he may have already played his last game.
