We will see at march meetings what momentum there is for both teams - i hope there is.
The switch was to appease the people arguing that whoever won the coin toss was unfairly favored to win since getting in FG range is a lot more doable than marching all the way down to the end zone to score. They probably will cave eventually though, but I don't personally see any problem with the current setup

Hell, I wouldn't even mind it going back to true sudden death. You lose the coin toss, but want possession? You better make sure you stop that team no matter what then. I saw no sense of urgency or hunger from The Chiefs defense in OT.

They won't be embarrassed by something they're probably encouraging.

The Washington Post's Mark Maske reports the NFL's competition committee will "give consideration" to making pass interference calls reviewable.

Several coaches including Sean Payton, whose team was on the receiving end of a horrific and game-changing non-call on Sunday, have been in favor of making pass interference reviewable, and it sounds like there is a possibility they will get their wish. "It will be discussed at length along with additional fouls that coaches feel should be subject to review," a source told Maske. A more comprehensive and streamlined review system could help, but the NFL has a serious refereeing issue which needs to be addressed.

Wentz is fine, just gotta handle the Foles situation delicately.

They allowed three 3rd and 10 conversions in OT. That's embarrassing, and not how you win a game.
Ive already said the fact that the Chiefs put up 32 total yards the 1st half is what did them in. Coin toss/refs were not the deciding factor. The Chiefs looked like a team that had never been to a championship game in that first half. Forget OT thats a deciding factor of why they lost but not the overall factor.

So far it seems 100% of his teammates have backed him and denied the story. This would be the first I've heard of Wentz having any sort of issues. Sounds like the media taking an anonymous "source" and blowing it badly out of proportion, if not just making *hit up.

Yeah it's a hit piece, I'm not putting much stock in it. National media really wants a QB controversy in Philly but there just isn't one to be had.

Having said that, there is some merit to the accusations of favoritism. Our offense was pretty much entirely Ertz until Foles came in and started spreading the ball around.

Journalism in the 21st century has changed forever with the shift in revenue sources. It's not about being right, it's about being first. And if you're proven wrong, you don't even have to apologize or retract because you got your clicks. And it doesn't help when so many people only seek out "news" that tells them what they want to hear. It's especially bad on the internet where many opinion-driven, fact-free blogs are passed off as journalism. Some journalists blog. Not all bloggers are journalists.

This would be hilarious.
From what I read, he can take it one step further and actually reverse the outcome of the game without them replaying anything. I think it was the same rule and section but it was Article 1...

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/wild-nfl-rule-allows-roger-goodell-to-reverse-rams-saints-outcome-but-would-he-actually-use-it

"The Commisioner's powers under this Section 2 include....the reversal of a game's result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred."

If you change OT rules to possession for each team that means the defense doesn't matter and it's just seeing which offense can outgun the other.

Poetic justice for the saints to lose on non calls and a bad interception when the Vikings lost the same way during bountygate

Actually, defense would be even more important if both teams had a possession.
Then we could see what both teams defense are capable of instead of just making one team play defense.

I agree that the Chiefs played poor defense in OT, but why should their offense be punished because of a coin toss?

Yeah, as the great Bill Parcells loved to say, it's a team effort, you have to be strong in all 3 areas of the game to contend.
