I agree that defense needs shoring up, I was thinking more in the secondary but this is a good move and should take off some of the pressure from them. I was reading that the Niners were making a play for Bell too. I mean it would've been nice but not necessary. Running game was strong last season even when losing McKinnon for the full season, lets see what he can do this year now. But even then Breida, Mostert and Morris were more than serviceable in McKinnons absence. |

The Saints restructured Drew Brees' contract to clear $10.8 million in cap space. The restructure means Brees will have a cap hit of $21.3 million in 2020, and Brees is not under contract past this season (they structured the contract so 2020 automatically voids), so if Brees stays with the Saints past this season they're going to have to get creative (and push more money down the road) so Brees doesn't have a $40 million cap hit.

They predicted Tyrell Williams would be the most expensive WR in free agency and so far they’re right. 4yrs 44million. Glad he went to Oakland because he used to burn the hell out of us as a Charger.

Maybe they feel bring Djax back will help the current RB rotation a little with a spread field? |

I have my concerns with Clowney. Yesterday on sports talk radio they were suggesting we could trade him for a top offensive lineman. We badly need help on the OL, especially since we haven't addressed it in freee agency.

So the true terms of Le'Veon Bell's deal are out and it's really a 2-year, $26 million deal then team options in the 3rd and 4th years:
The cash flow breakdown (without incentives) goes: $14.5 million in total earnings through Year 1 $26 million in total earnings through Year 2 $39.5 million in total earnings through Year 3 (no guaranteed money is years 3-4) $52.5 million in total earnings through Year 4 https://www.nj.com/jets/2019/03/leve...takeaways.html |
