When a defender does it, it’s a personal foul and possible ejection/suspension.
Why the double standard if they’re really concerned about player safety?

In the Bengals/Steelers game just now, the Steeler RB dropped his helmet to initiate contact milliseconds before the defender did likewise. The RB flailed his arms after the tackle to alert the ref that it should be a penalty. The ref then tossed his flag and proceeded to make the call against the DB.

Just an observation.
It's actually no longer okay for players on either side of the ball to stiff-arm to the face or lead with the helmet.

There is a lot of bad football being played this year. Six teams are going into week five without a win. Which one of those teams is most likely to go winless this year?

Get used to it, it's the new normal what with regulated practices, more sanctions soon to be less preseason games/more regular season games, etc. I suspect I will no longer will be watching this sport in 10 years if not sooner.

I could actually see MIA winning at least one. The NYJ, welp, I'm not so sure.

Miami has a surprisingly good shot at home against Washington in two weeks. Not to mention two games against the Jets. But I guess Miami doesn't WANT to win any games, so it is what it is.

Those two NYJ/MIA games will be epic in terms of complete and utter futility. Actually, I could see MIA sweeping us but I suspect we'll take one of them cuz it's Gase's former team.

Honestly, I'm not interested in watching any of their games until Darnold gets back.

I don’t care about mock drafts when the actual draft order is set.
Some BR schmoe must’ve needed a page filler.

Hard to see how this would have played out
  • 2016 - knee explodes, Vikings trade for Sam Bradford
  • 2017 - still rehabbing, Sam Bradford starts but is old and fragile, Case Keenum leads them to NFC Championship
  • 2018 - Teddy is a Free Agent but hasn't played in over 2 years.

Obviously that 2018 decision point was crucial for Minnesota. Do you resign Teddy and hand him a Super Bowl caliber team? Do you keep Keenum? Do you sign Cousins, who was the most proven entity at the time? Obviously the Cousins signing backfired, but it was the obvious choice at the time.

Absolutely understood, but at the very least they could have kept Teddy on the team as he rehabbed. He went to the Jets and then the Saints, so what stopped the Vikings from doing the same?

I get that Sam is often injured, and Case is Case, but they led that team how far? I think I would have rolled the dice the next year with them again. The money they spent on Kirk could have been a much better offensive line for them.

I think the Vikings are going to draft a left tackle because Riley Reif has been awful.
