I just don't see it from him. I'm not nostalgic for Foles; he would get hot at the right times but he was never a long-term solution. I just don't think Carson is that long-term solution either, but we're stuck with him financially. His 2017 year looks more and more like an aberration, not a sign of things to come.
In the closing minutes, down 7 on 4th down, facing an all out blitz Wentz put the ball up and it hit Agholor in the hands. I repeat, hit him in the hands for the game tying TD. This is the 2nd time Agholor has been a let down. The other being when Wentz hit him in the numbers against Atlanta for what would’ve been the winning TD.
Wentz did his job. The WRs have not been doing their job. Look at the numbers.
Also keep in mind Wentz had them leading when Lane Johnson went out. Then Peters(who is always hurt). Couple that with his WRs taking too long to get open results in him holding the ball longer which is never a good thing.
Give Wentz a Thomas/Jones/Evans type #1 option and lets see what happens.

I miss him too, but can he gameplan with backups? I doubt it.
As the saying goes, they are backups for a reason. The gameplan is working right up until the point the ball hits the WRs hands then falls incomplete. Don’t even think he great Bill Belichek can gameplan for that.

Huge loss for us, but I'm glad to see him doing well in Indy. They lucked out with the McDaniels situation, I hope their fans realize that now.

And of course Reich can gameplan with backups. Look at what he's doing with Brissett, who was the backup until just a couple of weeks before the season.

All I'm saying is that the great QBs find ways to win. I'm not saying Carson is terrible or a bust, just that I've come to stop expecting great things from him. We don't have good WRs but a great QB would win in spite of that. He can't.

He could use a legitimate rushing threat too, not sure if that's Howard or Sanders, it might be Ajayi.

I'm not over-the-moon on Sanders so far like a lot of people seem to be, but he's shown flashes. Howard is our best option but it's nice to have Ajayi back. Hopefully he and Carson still have some semblance of chemistry.

It all goes hand in hand. Usually the great QBs have great playmakers. Which is why they win. Drew Brees is one of the best ever, but only one ring.
I will reserve my judgment on Wentz until he finally has a legit WR to work with. Everything I’ve seen to date, PFF stats included, tell me he’s elite just doesn’t have the dependable supporting cast.
Lol. RB1, WR1, RT1, LT1 all out against the #1 ranked defense and led for most of the game.

Howard is having a very good year. He was definitely missed.
Despite it all, I was pretty surprised with how well Philly played. Figured it would’ve been much worse seeing as how banged up they were.
Could come down to who wins week 16, Philly or Dallas.

The wide receivers had a great year in 2017 and they attributed it to the QB's. They've fallen back down to earth.

It was like that time Anquan Boldin caught every 50/50 ball and got Flacco a ring.

And yet they barely lose to Dallas.

Please, just let the games happen. Ugh.

Of course it is.

Russell Wilson is first.
Rodgers ain't even MVP of his own team.
Mahomes clear #1 if he didn't get injured.

Wilson
Lamar
Mahomes
Prescott
Rodgers

You're still forgetting McCaffrey.

Wilson
Lamar
McCaffrey

Anyone else is not a serious candidate at this time (though could be, pending on remainder of season plays out)

MVP goes to QBs, McCaffrey and Cook have almost no shot.

Can anyone explain why Cousins is left out of virtually every top-5 MVP list? He has the #2 passer rating in the NFL (behind only Wilson), >70% completion rate, 21-3 TD-Int ratio, Vikings vastly over-performing at 8-3. Only reason I can think of is his career thus far being very solid, but never great, so people think this season is a one-off. It may be a one-off, but I'd put him #3 in the MVP race, after Wilson and Jackson, just ahead of Mahomes and Watson.

Personally, I wouldn't consider voting for any non-QB as MVP unless that person had a historic season and no QB had an amazing season. Quarterbacks just dwarf every other position in importance in today's NFL.
