Todd Gurley and Clay Matthews say the Rams haven't paid them yet. The Rams are declining to respond to the media.

The Rams declined to comment. But a person with knowledge of the situation said the Rams were abiding by language that is standard in all of the team’s contracts.

Gurley is owed $7.55 million. But offset language in his contract with the Rams reduces the Rams’ liability if he signs elsewhere. Gurley will be owed at least $5 million.

Matthews is owed $2 million. But because of offset language in his Rams contract, if the 11-year veteran signs with another team, that figure will be reduced. For example, if Matthews signed for $1 million, the Rams would owe him $1 million. If he signed for $2 million, the Rams would not owe him anything.

The 24-year-old is headed into a contract year. The posturing has begun. “The things I do coming out of the backfield, the things I do in between the tackles, I block, I pretty much do it all,” Cook said. “I don’t have to come off the field. I think some guys just don’t do as much as I do, and I think that’s why I’m today’s (top) back.” Cook solidified himself as an elite option at the position last season, but his injury history remains lengthy and concerning. His deal has also come due at a time where a host of recent running back contracts have gone sideways. Working in his favor is the Vikings' run-established ways. Cook's contract situation is a fascinating undercard to Christian McCaffrey's.

Don't think the Cooks trade is all that bad for Houston honestly, but he's a poor substitute for Hopkins.

He has 5 concussions in 6 seasons and is coming off his worst year as a NFL WR.

Goff gonna goof. If he stays healthy, he can thrive with Watson.

Have to wonder how long until Jalen Ramsey forces his way off another sinking ship.
As for Houston...wtf is there to say? I can only hope bringing in Cooks means they will cut Stills to save some cap space, and Philly can scoop him up cheap.

Awful trade for Houston. Cooks is one bad concussion away from retirement.

How does Bill O'Brien still have a job?

Cooks and Cobb will make, basically, what a newly signed Hopkins would’ve made.
So....
WR1 Fuller(often injured)
WR2 Stills(can save 7mil if released)
WR3 Cobb(worth half of Hopkins)
WR4 Cooks(other half of Hopkins/concussion history)

Hey they already took a WR from a division rival and there’s a small chance Philly can land Stills for cheap. Go on with ur bad self BOB.

They absolutely suck. That’s why Wentz made NFL history throwing for over 4k yds and no WR over 500.
That’s called the tide raising all boats.
