Terrible if true, sounds like a minor league baseball team name. I liked the Warriors better but we all know the name is going to be generic and terrible so why bother.

They wouldn't. Why do you think NBA, NHL, MLB all want to start up again, they lost too much money during the shut down and need to make it back.

NFL has too much money to lose if they shut down and the owners would rather risk the player's safety than their bottom line.

All the other sports leagues have already started or are starting up soon. We are having an NFL season. No doubt in my mind.

Of the non Big 4 team sports that have started, all have had reported cases of infection. Even Golf, which has to be among the most socially distant sport.
The NBA has planned its entire “bubble” in one of the most overrun spots in the country: Florida.
What happens when key players start testing positive? They will have to miss games until they are cleared to play. Not sure what happened to the 2 week quarantine period, guess billion dollar sports leagues can bend the rules? How does this remain fair? A team can literally have most of its players out for stretches at a time, depending on the severity. Then what happens if someone gets critically ill? What if someone dies due to Covid? Or transmit the virus to a loved one?
Plenty of doubt in my mind.
Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if athletes opt out. Have already seen several.

How are more people not outraged that billion dollar businesses get to cut to the front of the line? Where are all the athletes blasting this? Where is all the education. Where is Malcom Jenkins sitting all the owners of Pro sports down and educating them like he did Drew Brees?

Isn’t that interesting how some things get a pass depending on your point of view.

How are they cutting to the front of the line? NBA and MLS players aren't on Medicaid, it's a private healthcare system for this country (mostly).

People who pay more get better care in the "USA #1 healthcare system". I think the NFL will probably change to the quicker turnaround and much pricier blood labs too, eventually.

I might have missed it, but could someone link me to Malcom Jenkins long winded, expletive laden social media post condemning what Jackson said. Ya know so he can help educate him like he did his teammate Drew Brees.

It seems like the Prophet Malcom hath spoken. To the surprise of nobody, he came across as pretty tone deaf. Basically ignoring DeSean Jackson’s anti-Semitic remarks and stating folks should stay focused on BLM and not be distracted and “Jewish people are not our problem”.

Wow, just wow. Thank you for the ring Malcom, but Thank God you’re gone. Just like Stephen Jackson, you’ve really lost a lot of credibility by putting one struggle over another. It is possible to be sympathetic with another cultures struggles without losing focus on the current issue.
Maybe someone needs to educate Malcom Jenkins on this.

The Washington football team will reveal the team's new name over “the next few days,” according to a report on ESPN Radio's Dallas-Forth Worth station by Yahoo's Chris Robinson.

The report also says that NFL teams have "been told to scrub the old racist logo off of their platforms."

Washington’s inevitable rebrand has everyone talking including Redskins alum Fred Smoot, who endorsed “Red Wolves” for the team’s new name. Smoot’s suggestion has quickly gained traction on social media, receiving support from fourth-year D lineman Jonathan Allen and starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins, among others.

“It is an endangered species,” Smoot explained on Thursday's "Redskins Talk and Friends" podcast. “It allows us to keep the HTTR [Hail to the Redskins]. It allows us to keep the burgundy and gold. It allows us to have some crazy uniforms.”

While a geo-targeted Twitter map would indicate fans still favor names like Warriors, Red Hawks and Red Tails over Smoot’s preferred Red Wolves, the Red Wolf contingent seems to be growing stronger by the day. Veteran linebacker Will Compton, who began his career as a Redskin in 2013, said he’d happily sign a one-day contract just so he could retire as a Washington Red Wolf.
