ESPN's Adam Schefter reports minority shareholders of Washington’s NFL team have hired Moag & Company to vet buyers in order to sell their stake in the team.
Everyone associated with the team is seemingly looking for a way out prior to The Washington's Post alleged bombshell regarding the organization's culture being published in the coming days. Owner Dan Snyder has already hired DC attorney Beth Wilkinson to review and fight rampant speculation of ongoing protocols, but this storm is clearly just getting underway. Expect all even remotely involved in this unraveling to throw in the towel before any fallout is announced.

As an Eagles fan, I always hoped Snyder would be the owner forever. But this is terrible.

No doubt in my mind that the situation that's about to unfold with Washington is occurring or has occurred amongst numerous other teams not just in the NFL, but in other sports leagues too. I predict we're going to see a lot of women come forward with similar allegations in the future. This is just the beginning.

I guarantee there are quite a few nervous owners out there......

No woman accused Snyder or former longtime team president Bruce Allen of inappropriate behavior with women, but they expressed skepticism the men were unaware of the behavior they allege.

This might be the line that saves Snyder. The worst thing it says he actively did was:

I think he's going to lose his reputation and most of the friends he has in that organization are going to get fired. His team is also being stripped of its name and logo so he will have to live the rest of his life knowing all of these things.

The laughable proposal would necessitate widespread veteran releases and contract re-negotiations. You can probably guess the NFLPA's response: "Lol." The union wants to spread the hit out over multiple future seasons. As Profootballtalk's Mike Florio points out, the players have zero obligation to negotiate the 2020 cap. The "mutual duty to bargain" does not kick in until 2021. It is entirely predictable that the league is trying to spread out the unforeseen losses, something it would never do with unforeseen gains. As was the case with Major League Baseball's coronavirus negotiations, this has the potential to get ugly in a hurry. It is mind boggling that the process was not ramped up sooner.

Name and logo aren't being "stripped", this years political climate and the loss of sponsor due to it, forced his hand - funny how every other time it came up the sponsors didn't care. He held his ground on the name change before but if he had this year he would've continued to face losing sponsors, onslaught from the woke mob because they're getting pretty much anything they want this year.

Well there are casual sports fans who don't know he's a useless scumbag, those people will know who he is now.

The note also mentions the league "will meet with the attorneys upon the conclusion of their investigation" and take any action necessary. Washington head coach Ron Rivera has commented on the allegations, but team owner Daniel Snyder has remained silent to this point.

Washington Post's Mark Maske reports the NFL is "considering" a fine for Washington owner Daniel Snyder after 15 ex-employees allege sexual harassment from some of his staff members.
Maske also reports the NFL is unlikely to force Snyder to sell the team because of the allegations, something fans have been hoping for. The rest of the league's owners are likely having meetings with Roger Goodell on how to handle the situation, but it sounds like Snyder will only get a slap on the wrist despite the seriousness of the issue, one that unfortunately runs rampant across the entire sports industry. Snyder's statement after Thursday's report was at best empty. He's hired a firm to investigate his organization's "culture". Having more than one human resources person for a staff of 200+ would be a start.

Some of the NFL's travel rules for this year:
-No use of public or private transportation to or in other cities.
-No leaving hotel to go to restaurants open to public.
-No room visits by anyone outside the traveling party.
-No use of shared hotel facilities (pool, gym, etc.)


Other 2020 NFL team travel guidelines:

-Masks required while traveling.
-Buses at no more than 50 percent capacity.
-At least one open seat between passengers on the plane.
