Giants GM Jerry Reese laughed off speculation Monday that the team might cut ties with Brandon Jacobs because of his $4.65 million salary.
The speculation began mostly because Jacobs himself expressed concern that he wouldn't return if the Giants re-signed free agent Ahmad Bradshaw. "You have to consider the source when Brandon starts talking," Reese said. "... We do expect Brandon to be part of the football team this fall. He is under contract." Jacobs averaged a sterling 5.60 YPC last season, confirming he's got plenty left in the tank. The Giants want to get him more carries this year.
Plaxico is a 35 year old has been, he will not be ready to be a #1 this year, will probably be a #3 somewhere on a minimum contract. So it could be Washington, Oakland, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, etc. Could even be somewhere like Cincinnati but we know they already have 2 moron receivers.

Plax will be 34 in August. I don't think anyone expects him to be a #1 receiver but with his size he could be a good red zone threat, especially on a team like Philly which lacks tall receivers. I think he gets a heavily incentive-laden contract because it's hard to project what a receiver will do after missing 2 seasons, especially since he wasn't very effective his final season with the Giants.
Also, Cincy won't have either of their head case receivers this year. T.O.'s contract expired and Ocho will either be traded or released.
Good call on the 34 in August and yeah Cincinnati will be without TO or Chad but I still don't think Plaxico will go there.

The Redskins are ripping out thousands of seats in the end zone nosebleed sections of FedEx Field to construct "Party Decks," reducing the capacity of one of the NFL's largest stadiums.
The team said Tuesday it will sell standing-room-only tickets to the decks, which are expected to be ready in time for the 2012 season.
The remodeling job will drop the stadium's capacity from 91,704 to about 85,000, still the NFL's largest for routine games. The Dallas Cowboys' stadium usually seats 80,000 but can be expanded to more than 100,000.
The Redskins don't often give their fans a reason to party. They've have lost 11 of 14 at the stadium and are 42-46 at home since 2000.

It seems like a good sign that they're meeting without the lawyers and that both sides are staying fairly quiet. I think both sides are truly scared of what the court will rule, especially after being told that if the sides don't settle on their own both sides would be unhappy with they're ruling.

I still say there's a good chance this won't resolve until wallets start to bleed a lot, would be nice to see some free agency and some organized team workouts before the season though.
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired the negotiating rights to Terrelle Pryor and have spoken to Pryor's lawyer about bringing the former Ohio State quarterback to the Canadian Football League.
Pryor's attorney, Larry James, said Wednesday that the CFL is a genuine possibility for the ex-Buckeye.
"Yeah, it's like I told (the Roughriders). My house is not for sale, but at the right price, it's on the market," James said.
James was in a meeting and had yet to speak with Pryor about the Roughriders, however. James said he did not believe Pryor had ever mentioned the CFL as a strong possibility in their conversations.
Pryor, a three-year starter for the Buckeyes, announced on Tuesday that he is giving up his senior season while the NCAA investigates Ohio State players getting improper benefits, including tattoos, cash and possible deals on cars. Pryor has admitted he broke NCAA rules by accepting improper benefits from a Columbus tattoo-parlor owner.
Terrelle Pryor is not interested in playing in the Canadian Football League and is focused on the NFL's supplemental draft, Larry James, his attorney, said Thursday.
James said he believes Ohio State will provide a letter that will show Pryor would not have been an eligible student athlete moving forward, which should help Pryor in his cause to be eligible for the supplemental draft due to special circumstances.
Despite the NFL's labor uncertainty, sources at the NFL told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and ESPN.com's John Clayton that the league believes it can hold a supplemental draft.
"If there are players that apply and are deemed eligible, there will be a supplemental draft," a league source told Schefter. The supplemental draft, if needed, would be held sometime in July.
Teams submit picks to the league; the team with the highest bid receives the player, but loses the corresponding pick in the next year's draft in April.

Pryor is focused on soon selecting a quarterback coach or trainer to work with in the near future, James said. George Whitfield has been mentioned as a possible tutor.
Whitfield, who worked with Newton before the NFL draft, said Newton and Pryor share a number of on-field traits.
"Cam Newton and Terrelle Pryor are comparable," Whitfield said. "Terrelle is a guy who is going to want to improve his mechanics and there's no evidence to suggest he can't. Cam seemed to have more confidence in his arm strength. But the tools and the ceiling for those two are comparable."
The Saskatchewan Roughriders had acquired the negotiating rights to Pryor and had spoken to Pryor's lawyer about bringing him to the CFL.
James said the offer from the CFL "was not sufficient to whet his taste buds."
If Pryor's application for the supplemental draft isn't accepted, the United Football League might provide him with a temporary home.
A well-placed UFL source told Schefter on Wednesday that Pryor would benefit from the coaching in the league, which includes high-profile former NFL coaches Marty Schottenheimer, Dennis Green, Jim Fassel and Jerry Glanville. The source said he believes there's "a decent shot" Pryor could wind up playing this year in the UFL.
Any player who signs with the UFL must remain in the league for the entire season before signing with an NFL team. The UFL will announce its schedule Thursday.
Michael Huyghue, the UFL's commissioner, told the Las Vegas Review Journal on Wednesday that his league would have a spot available for Pryor.
"We would just place him in the best situation," Huyghue told the newspaper. "For us, Terrelle Pryor can be a great opportunity. There's the question that, at 6 feet 6, is he a quarterback? Is he a wide receiver? He can get a chance in our league to see where his future is. Plus, we have coaches in this league who know how to develop quarterbacks."
In other news, James said he is "100 percent certain" that at least eight of the nine current additional players mentioned in a Sports Illustrated report alleged to have sold autographs or memorabilia to a tattoo shop owner will be cleared. There is some uncertainty about the ninth.
James said he has collected the key memorabilia that those players have gathered such as Big Ten title rings and Gold Pants Awards. James added that he would "not be surprised" if some of the players already suspended and/or others have been or will soon be re-interviewed by the NCAA to answer questions related to newer allegations.
An Ohio State spokesman, when asked for comment, replied: "The university has an active investigation with the NCAA and we will work cooperatively with them until the matter is resolved. Until then, we won't be discussing details of the case. You should rest assured that any new allegations that come to light will be addressed."
Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was arrested yet again on Wednesday, this time for resisting arrest, tampering with evidence, and obstructing government functions. He allegedly crushed a cigar containing marijuana when approached by narcotics officers and tried to escape. Just 2 days ago Britt pleaded guilty to reduced charges for a traffic offense in which he was originally charged with a felony for eluding police. As Britt has been arrested numerous times he could face a lengthy suspension depending on if the NFLPA agrees that arrests during the lockout are subject to discipline.
