Love this for the Lions (did I just type something positive about the Lions?).
Goff is definitely better than starting from scratch and you hope he can improve. But I feel better with him than Fields and giving up part of a different Lions trade to even move up to get the kid. Lions certainly don’t draft well to say the least but you have to think maybe that will change. They will have an opportunity at a great player this year, can hope Goff improves and have at least 2 1st rounders in the next two drafts. One of them can be used on a better QB option than Fields if Goff doesn’t look like he can be a quality starter. The Lions don’t deserve much faith but this is a very good deal for them if they are finally going to not be the worst franchise in the league. |

Maybe stats wise, but he isn't a winner...the stat that matters. He still turns the ball over too much, and most of his stats come in garbage time. Bears fans generally refer to him as Stat Paddford.
Rams got fleeced though. Two firsts and a third for a guy that's always hurt and/or in last place??? I guess the Rams really really wanted Goff gone. I should add I don't think much better of Goff. Goff keeps the Lions in 4th place imo. We shall see what the Bears do at QB, but if they think putting Foles out there next year is the answer, they may fall to 4th. |

The real win for Detroit is the picks; the real win for LA is getting rid of Goff.
Stafford is definitely better than Goff but it’s not like the Rams suddenly become NFC favorites. They might not even be the favorites in their division still. But nice of Detroit to send Stafford where he wanted to go. Washington reportedly made a better offer. |

I always liked Stafford a lot. He should do well with the Rams.

My Lions have won ONE playoff game since 1957. Yes, Stafford didn’t win a playoff game in his 12 seasons here. But in the 51 years before he was drafted, the Lions only won one playoff game. The lack of success for the Lions is much more of an organizational problem than a Stafford problem. |

I mean, cause his 4-12 record on another garbage team was so impressive. And the Bears D is falling off hardcore, they still have an idiot for a coach and a bunch of WRs that cant get open and/or catch the ball. But yeah, one QB will change everything they tell me. |

I like the idea of the Dolphins using their draft picks to build around Tua and them proving me wrong about him, but I've never been big on Tua and the thought of Watson on the Dolphins just sounds great to me, obvious Clemson bias noted.
It would be a lot to give up for one player. Has doing that ever really worked out well for a team? Building the OL and WR positions with those picks would probably be the better decision. Will be interesting to see what they do. I don't know where he will go, but despite what the odds makers say, I don't see Watson playing another snap for the Texans. He seems determined and it's not over money. I wonder if the Jets are on his list of acceptable teams? |

![]() As for Goff, he’s young enough to have a great career. It’s just stupid to write a guy off at 26. |

As a Bears fan, I have seen Stafford twice a year since he started on the Lions. Calling him ALL TIME GREAT is something I'd never say.
A lot of times his bad INTs are the reason the Lions lost so much. He might win a bit more going to the team with the #1 defense, but his mistakes will still cost wins as well. Goff was almost just a one year wonder. He's had decent games here and there, but besides the Superbowl year, he's never been very consistent. Even that year, he looked downright terrible at Soldier Field. He is also no going to a worse all around team. |
