Just keep in mind that according to PFF 16 out of the 40 sacks he took last year were his own fault. From either holding onto to the ball too long or running around in the pocket or right into one. So, a lot of those sacks happen because of his playstyle.

Yes, but how many times was he pressured and avoided sacks by running around? That 40 could easily be 50, 60 if he wasn't so good at scrambling when the pocket collapses. I get holding on to the ball, but every QB does that.

I hope he gets even more frustrated and leaves the NFC West. ☺

I thought streaking meant nudity. Also, never brag or involve others in fraud. Someone's going to talk, at least according to every movie I've watched.

I saw one mock draft that has Miami taking Chase at #3 and Waddle at #18. Damn, talk about upgrading your receiving corp.

Perhaps the NFL shouldn't have cut the per team salary cap limit by $23 million for next year. The owners didn't have to do it but they wanted to do it - every team is profitable and then some.

Wilson's contract was pre-pandemic and wouldn't have had such depletive effect on players who sign after the new cap. It was based on the slight ever-growing pie of revenue splits. This offseason is going to be weird.

Which makes my point even more relevant, his contract is the albatross in the Seahawks locker room like it or not. This was all discussed when he signed that deal and everyone knew it was going to hamper other areas of the team and specifically the o-line. The cap reduction is something every team in the league is dealing with right now, Wilson still has the ability to rework his deal and provide some space.

Ive seen several people now say a team will eventually do this:

Draft a qb - he plays under the rookie deal for 4/5 yrs.
Then dont resign him.

Draft a qb - he plays under the rookie deal for 4/5 yrs.
Then dont resign him.

rinse/repeat.

QBs have won a super bowl in this window - wilson / mahomes so it can be done.
Would love to see it.

The league and teams are taking less profits during the pandemic. Wilson has the ability to restructure and give the Seahawks more cap wiggle room to maximize the talent around him.

Exactly, instead of taking it to Twitter which seems to be the standard protocol for some players now.

His contract is also back loaded which means his number climbs a good bit the next few years and will max out at 39 per.

Trust me when I say this. Russ will not do that unless they somehow structure it where he gets more money sooner.

I disagree. The same thing was said about the Saints and Brees's mega-deal that he signed several years ago and they managed to field some excellent teams the last 4 years.

What does that have to do with Wilson complaining about his o-line when he consumes a large portion of the cap which limits his team to sign other players?

And how many super bowl titles has Brees and the Saints won the last few seasons? Not looking to argue here with this because there really isn't anything to argue about. Wilson's cap hit goes from the 26.5 or so million of this last season and explodes to over 39 million at its max point! He back loaded his deal and now the Hawks are going to have to find creative ways to deal with it.

Chiefs fans better take note here because this is your future too imo.

Man I really thought that Russ trade talk was crazy but its certainly picking up more traction. I still thing its a long shot, especially since they would take $39m cap hit from what I read
