Interesting. I have YTTV. Thought Apple was the front runner. Then again, I haven’t been following that close. ST isn’t that important to me.

Apple wanted to put it on a cheap pay level but that would cut into fox / cbs ratings which is a big no no.
NFL wants to keep it relatively limited.

you're right, if I was an Eagles fan I would want him to rest but as a Niner fan I hope he sits.

need to see how Purdy performs in the postseason and a lot more data on Trey to make that judgement. When Trey does come back Kyle needs to nix the called QB runs. Its great that he can run but that should be by necessity and not design.

That’s a big boost for YoutubeTV. Also if that $2.5 Billion/year figure is accurate, that’s a stunning number given that the bidding was down to two companies.

This could be horrible, I know Apple wanted to expand this and allow ala cart purchases, and follow 1 team, as well as the 2 options that people currently have. I doubt ill even look at subbing if this goes YouTube TV.

Appears Apple told the NFL to piss off 3 or 4 days ago

In 2021, Apple was considered the frontrunner to secure streaming rights to the National Football League’s Sunday Ticket package. Now, a year later, the company has reportedly dropped out of negotiations. The tidbit comes from a Puck article about Bob Iger’s surprise return to Disney. According to author Dylan Byers, Apple recently said no to the NFL “not because they can’t afford [the package], but because they don’t see the logic.”

With Disney reportedly bowing out of the negations as well, the talks have become a two-horse race between Amazon and Google. “Amazon can use [the deal] to drive Prime subscriptions; Google can use it to fuel its YouTube TV business,” adds Byers. Of the two suitors, Amazon is probably the best fit given that Prime Video is the exclusive home of Thursday Night Football for the next decade.

Its really the oppo.

As I mentioned in my post apple wanted to put it on a lower level so alot could sub to it but NFL said no way jose cause that would go against the contracts NFL has with CBS & FOX.

It may be, but DTV satellite is reliable, streaming is most assuredly not. Next season, it won't take long for folks to pine for the old days of solid broadcast transmissions with little to no drop-outs.

That still an issue? These days you can even rewind and pause a live broadcast.

I usually have issues streaming games at work but that's mainly due to poor wireless once I hit my 40 GB cap every month. Hopefully it'll be crystal clear during the Iggles game on Christmas Eve.

Sucks, they were literally going to retire his number next home game for the Steelers against the Raiders to celebrate the 50th of the immaculate reception. He will be only the 3rd Steeler to have their number retired to show what an honor that is.

RIP Franco

Just ask folks with older devices (TVs, tablets or phones) and slower than optimal internet speeds. You can drop a dish on a house in East Bumblefook and get the same satellite broadcast feed as a populous city, but it doesn't quite work that way when internet is involved.
