Call the game a tie/no contest

Random seeding by random generator for AFC.

I’m down with that.

I’m inclined to believe the NFL told them five minutes before resuming.

WAS to start rookie QB Howell in finale

Murray likely to miss start of next season for ARI

Fields out this Sunday for CHI, ending his quest for QB rushing mark 64 yds shy of Lamar Jackson's 1206 mark set in 2019

I wouldn't say dumb. Completely legitimate question and not insensitive or trollish in the least. This is just a few media personalities trying to create a story out of a complete non-story Tweet because they have nothing better to talk about. Frankly, I find Shannon Sharpe's massive overreaction more embarrassing than anything else. Shannon made a fool of himself when he "confronted" Skip on TV, where he outright admitted Skip's Tweet was legitimate.

I think 5 minutes would have been too little, but I would get why they'd want to pick up and resume. There are a lot of potential problems with turning loose tens of thousands of fans onto the streets, with large number drunk very abruptly. There's also a potential snowball effect with setting this kind of precedent. Guarantee next time a broken leg or some other less life threatening injury happens, there will be calls to stop games.

But wouldn't KC have the #1 seed by virtue of having a higher winning percentage? 13 wins to Buffalo's 12 and a tie would go to KC methinks even if they have the head-to-head advantage since Buffalo beat them earlier on in the year.

They can postpone the game to Friday and flex Buffalo's and Cincinnati's week 18 games to later on next week, but would they even be ready/willing to play by then without knowing if Hamlin's (gonna be?) alright?

Feel like skip bayless is also catching a stray bullet for what happened here. This is the point in the game where they were figuring out what to do next is when he tweeted the league is thinking about postponing the game and stuff.

I don't believe ESPN would make something like that up so now the NFL is trying to lie to make itself look better.

Momentum is currently pointing toward Bills-Bengals not being resumed, with AFC playoff seeding based on winning percentage following the outcome of the Week 18 games.

That's the group I'd like to see get in this year. There's 3 pass rushers on the list that are all getting in at one point or another.

Yes, and that's the problem. Win% with the Cincy-Buffalo game being scrapped would give KC the clear path to the #1 seed and a playoff bye. If the game Cincy game were completed, Buffalo would be on track for the #1 seed and bye.

I do think it's silly not finishing the game, when there are avenues to get it done. Like you say, we're likely to have no idea whether Hamlin is going to really recover for many weeks, if not months. The Bills are going to have to play again this season regardless. Hell, if they don't finish the game vs. Cincy, they're going to have to play an extra playoff game.

Yeah, I think Thomas, Hester, Revis are almost certain. I think Ware makes it as well. A little less sure about the 5th spot, but probably Willis, Steve Smith, or Holt.

Poor Joe Thomas. Easily one of the best OT's of all-time, didn't miss a single game in 10 years, but his teams were 48-119 with zero playoff appearances during his time with Cleveland.
