So brutal. First they ice their own kicker to blow the win the week before and yesterday the opponent icing him results in a blocked field goal.

Eli was a beast though. A huge drop by Manningham (because yes all teams have huge drops at critical times, not just the Broncos) didn't faze Manning at all.

Maybe he can come back to Dallas now and be our OC, we could use a coach around here besides Ryan that has some fire.

Wow. The NFL is officially ridiculous. He lost his star RB to IR, then his QB, so what if it's a bad year. They made the playoffs last year.

Yeah, I've heard that and it's asinine. McDaniels was a horrible head coach in Denver and is going to get fired by the Rams as their OC and now there is serious talk about him getting the Chiefs head coaching. I know McDaniels has a good relationship with Matt Cassel but he does not deserve another head coaching job.

Chiefs Fired Head Coach ...

Quote:
Last Updated: December 12. 2011 12:02PM
Chiefs fire coach Todd Haley in third season
Associated Press

Kansas City, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs fired coach Todd Haley less than a year after he led the team to the AFC West division title.

The injury-ravaged Chiefs dropped to 5-8 after Sunday's 37-10 loss the New York Jets.

Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said Monday the move is "best for the future of the Chiefs," who lost several of their stars to season-ending injuries, including quarterback Matt Cassel and running back Jammal Charles.

Haley leaves with a 19-27 record in nearly three years at his first NFL head coaching job. The Chiefs won the AFC West last season with a 10-6 record. The Chiefs are planning a news conference later Monday.

I think it's skewed because college programs have been moving athletes to offensive positions. With the success of LSU and Alabama this year, we may see things start to move in the other direction. I can tell you this much, the LSU defensive backfield is more accomplished than what the Patriots trot out on the field every Sunday.

They also lost tight end Tony Moeaki in the preseason.

Haley and GM Scott Pioli have not gotten along and Haley almost got fired after last season despite making the playoffs. There was no way Haley was going to be back next season unless the Chiefs made a playoff run this season. Pioli is going to want to hire someone he knows he'll get along with. He's been friends with Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz for years but I don't see him going to the pros with one son still in high school and another playing for him at Iowa. I really would hope that Kansas City's owners wouldn't let him hire Josh McDaniels after his terrible job with division rival Denver but it's not out of the question, nor is making defensive coordinator and interim head coach Romeo Crennel the permanent head coach.

Well the Steelers do have the 49ers on their schedule so there is a chance, albeit a small one, that they won't win out.

It just seemed odd to leave them out entirely considering they already beat the Patriots this year. I suppose it's because they lost to Houston and both games to Baltimore, complicating matters.

Had to post this quote from Gronkowski about his big play which set up his record-breaking touchdown....

Quote:
Sounding downright Gump-like, Gronkowski said, “There was no whistle or nothing, so I just kept running.’’

I kinda feel bad for Romo, he's probably having a better year than he did in 2007 when we went 13-4, it's a shame the defense has blown more huge 4th quarter leads this year alone than they did from 1960-2010 combined. Difference between 10-3 and 7-6, really.
