Tua Tagovailoa’s retirement could cost Dolphins $124M after GM relied on jiujitsu to end his concussions

Grier cited offseason jiujitsu training as the remedy for the quarterback’s concussion concerns.

“The one thing Tua did was he attacked the offseason wanting to prove that he could stay healthy. Spending the time learning to fall, with the jiujitsu and stuff, it paid off for him,” he said.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said he and the team were also “comfortable” with jiujitsu being the solution to preventing their quarterback’s concussions.

Its supposed to help for things like how to take a hit when getting sacked.
Its not gonna help when running head first into a tackle which as been mentioned is just pure stupidity for anyone much less him.

$167 mil if he is never medically cleared to play but no way this is happening. He’ll be cleared. There are other options for the Dolphins though…

Things get tougher after this.

The fact it has gotten worse tells me this might linger all season, we have seen countless times guys aggravate their Achillies, rest it a month and come back to play and pop it and then are out for the next year plus. At the very least they showed the offensive line is as much to thank for that running attack as CMC imo. You could have driven trucks through that Jets defensive line last week.

Thankfully I had crappy drafting positions in all my drafts.

Ive never played fantasy but i do watch/listen to alot of betting$$ shows/pods & they did say dont play him for things like season rushing yrds & off poy etc.

They said if youre gonna bet then play him Under (which you should be doing on most props anyways) so the injury info was definately out there.

I would say over 90% of all fantasy leagues had him going either #1 or #2. The projections for the sports book I guess are not shared with fantasy. Although most drafts were over a month back and there was not much noise about him potentially missing any time.

Hey, it could be worse I once Drafted Ricky Williams with my first-round pick after his monster season with the Dolphins because my league used to draft the first week of June, and by camp he retired to go smoke weed in the prime of his career....
