I have to imagine it is terrible too, the forest fires from Canada made the air terrible here a few times over the summer and the fires were over a 1,000 miles away from me. Imagine LA with instead of just mainly wood burning all the materials you would expect in a very lived in area. The air quality is literally rancid in that city right now and dangerous, yes it sucks for LA fans but in the end it is just a stupid football game.

The guys career is done, it's time the Browns relaize this and move on from him... It's actually the best thing that could've happened to the Browns as they will at least recoup over 40 million from an insurance policy this upcoming season. I would think after 25 he will be cut and we will never see or hear from him again except for court cases and lawsuits.

He has a cap hit of 79 million this year and next year. What a horrible contract.

Jets, Browns, and Jaguars to play in London this year. 14th game for the Jags and this year will make it 40+ games played there.

Could have been during rehab, or the tendon they put it in was not strong enough.

Air quality was at the moderate level yesterday, and the unhealthy if sensitive level today (105)

The NFL moved the game because of how it looks, now how it is.

They can't cut him due to his insane contract. The best they could have hoped for was finding a trade partner that could lessen the burden even though they don't want Watson. Kinda similar to what Cleveland did with Houston (I think) when they took on the entire contract of a player that they basically cut a few weeks later since they had the cap space to do so. Unfortunately, everyone know nows that he isn't the elite QB or even a competent one at that.

It sucks the Stephanski was saddled with him thanks to the GM and Haslam. Even if they couldn't have made up with Baker, any other QB they could have picked would have kept them as playoff contenders. It's probably why he wasn't fired this after the season was over since he has been forced to play Watson.

man karma sure caught up with Watson, his career is effectively over. I wish Browns fans had something to look forward to but just a historically inept front office lead them here.

in regard to the Rams game being moved. I am all over greater LA county for work monthly and was supposed to go down next week. I have been monitoring the situation all week, believe it or not the air quality level has been ok even by smoggy LA standards. the Santa Ana winds, which were a big contributor to the fire, moves a lot of the bad, smokey air pretty effectively.
I was still planning on going down next week as a lot of my work will be far away from the fires, in the city however management made the call out of an abundance of caution, which I imagine is what league, city and county officials also decided. the likelihood of fires spreading to the Inglewood area is pretty much non-existent however think of all the first responders - police, fire and medical - are present at a big NFL playoff game when those resources are needed elsewhere.
The two big fires - Palisades and Eaton - are barely contained, if at all, but there are about 4-5 other smaller fires in the greater LA/Ventura county areas. Add on top of that the general mood of the city, how many fans may have been affected, currently homeless, evacuated, displaced, etc.
Moving the game was the correct call.

I just hope I won't get bombarded with spam emails from twitch now.

As of about 1 hour ago the following is being reported Pats fans...

Quote:
Sources: The #Patriots and Mike Vrabel have been negotiating a deal to make him the franchise’s next head coach, and barring something unforeseen, the expectation remains that both sides will reach an agreement.

Palisades fire just switched directions it is now headed toward a very populated area. 150k+ were just ordered to evacuate. They have now brought in scoops from Canada to drop seawater on the fire. Were watching this as well our datacenter, design centers, and corporate offices for 6 of our affiliates are located in Irvine Ca. Thankfully its far enough away but weve already lost power 1x.

Dallas gonna Dallas

It looks like Mike McCarthy's time with the Cowboys may not be over.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, McCarthy and the organization are expected to open talks on a new contract on Friday to keep the head coach in Dallas.

McCarthy and the Cowboys have been engaged in discussions about the 2024 season and the future throughout the week. But there have not been any substantive negotiations on McCarthy's contract

If you want to watch the game without subscribing to Amazon Prime (doesn't work with airplay casting to a TV, last I checked, so use a web browser.)

I'm getting the game on my cellphone without issue. Unfortunately the game looks like it's gonna go as I expected. Right off the bat I didn't like the Steelers receiving the opening kickoff. I'd prefer they deferred, not that it'll matter much.
