I get the Chiefs fatigue...I had that with the Patriots. I think the Bills have a real shot at beating the Chiefs. But I also think that history will show up and bite Josh Allen, and cause him to crumble. That is a hard thing to get over. The Chiefs had the #1 seed a few times in the 90's. Snake bitten is a real thing in the NFL.

I think the defenses will be cancelled out. Unless there is a big turnover in the fourth quarter. I think who will make the last mistake, will lose the game. And this is where I think Josh will stumble.

Potentially good news, though they also need to add replay assist or being able to challenge roughing the passer calls:

I will say Josh Allen has done nothing to let down the Bills during their 3 playoff loses. Esp. the 13 second game. It was their defense that blinked. The Bills have 15 games this season without a turnover. The Chiefs have had 8 games in a row (NFL record) without a Turnover. Will they both have a clean sheet tomorrow? They are so evenly matched. I can only hang my hat on Arrowhead and our Coaches as the tipping points. |

As a Chiefs fan, I always go into a game reading gameday analysis coming away with the expectations that X issues with the opposition's defense will create Y results for the Chief's offense. It "always seems" like those expectations never come to fruition (ie expecting big passing attack and the Chiefs offense goes into a run first/dinking and dunking offense).
With that in mind, the Bill's defense seems susceptible to deep balls, especially middle of the field (based on injuries to key players etc). So in theory, Hollywood Brown and Worthy could have big games. For me, I'll being holding my breath to see if the OL can give Mahomes enough time for the plays to develop....and for Mahomes to be more accurate with the long ball. I wonder if Patrick has struggled in this area because in the past he's not had to have perfect fundamentals (stepping into the throw, foot placement) because he depended on his arm strength more.....so to some degree is age catching up to him? I wouldn't be surprised to see a focus on his fundamentals in the off season. I do realize a clean pocket would allow him to be able to throw a clean ball as well. I think Brett Veach will treat this off season just like he did after the Tampa Bay Super Bowl, a focus on the issues in the OL. On defense, my HOPE is to limit Josh Allen extending their possessions...especially on third downs (which the Bills have been stellar at) and esp. with his feet. Can the DL and linebackers limit Josh and Cook successful run game? I hate to say it, but will the Chief's bend, but don't break defense keep them out of the red zone and if so, limit them to FG's? It sure didn't on the 4th and 2 play, when Allen went into Beast Mode and ran 20+ yrds for a TD. The Bills have the Offensive advantage just based on this season vs the results of the Chiefs offense for most of the reg season (and frankly last week's game). I think at this point, the Chiefs defense has a slight advantage vs the Bills due to some of their injuries. But, even a Milano at 80% gives me nightmares (he's such a stud). Special Teams, I give the Chiefs the edge. Butker based on last week's performance seems to be back to form (though his struggles at the end of the season are worrisome). Overall, the Special Teams for the Chiefs have been the difference in a handful of games (including last week) that give the Chiefs the edge today. This is where my homeboy bias is showing...I think Reid and Company are a better overall coaching staff. Reid (on Of), Spags and Toub are just a killer trio. Sorry Nagy, but we all know Reid is making the calls on OF. Lastly, Arrowhead Stadium. There was one report that 40% of the seats will be filled with Bill's fans. If so, then that could be a problem. If they can generate enough noise for the visiting team to feed off that energy...the Chiefs don't need that. When the Chiefs' fans show up on away games and create some noise.....Reid and players always acknowledge that.... I'm not saying it's more than a .000001% factor for either team. But, it may just be what either team needs to give it one more push on an important play. They are human. I agree with what I've seen that the Bills probably have the edge between 52-54% in winning the game. But, my hope and heart are giving the Chiefs the W today. I'm hoping (won't say predicting) for a Chiefs 27-Bills 24 final. If Josh and company win today, I'll be rooting for them in the Super Bowl. I'm not rooting against the NFC rep (I like both the Eagles and Commanders)...it's just the Bills are a good organization with a loyal fanbase. Historically, getting to the SB and losing in 4 consecutive appearances, winning this year would seem like a good way to rewrite their history. |

Will one of the teams blink? Thinking the likely culprit is the Bills Special Teams making a mistake. But, I'll take an Omenihu strip sack and Karlaftis recovery. ![]() Edit: I misstated a stat. Bills have had 15 games where they WON the turnover battle. Last edited by ronboster; 01-26-2025 at 04:28 PM. |

My Wife just got an email.....she donated to local Charity, Cornerstones of Care in a drawing for tickets to today's game. She won 2 tickets lower level for this AFC Championship game. My son and I will be at the game. Now I'm praying for a victory.
