Its all about the extra $$ these generate thats why theres 7 international games this yr the most ever.
Also now with the 17 game sched it still allows the designated home teams to still have 8 home games thats why the afc teams are the home teams cause this yr the afc has 9 home games & 8 road games.
& most of these games create that extra 9.30a tv window.

Makes sense, cap goes up when season revenue goes up. Get rid of the salary cap and you’ll have smaller market teams that can’t compete with the big boys….just like in baseball (which has needed a cap for what seems like forever).
