ESPN 1500 Twin Cities' Tom Pelissero reports that the Vikings fear Adrian Peterson tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee Saturday.
Pelissero also confirms that such an injury would "probably" jeopardize Peterson's availability for the start of next season. Typically, doctors are forced to wait several weeks and sometimes months for the MCL to heal before repairing the ACL with reconstructive surgery. Peterson's MRI is scheduled for tonight, on the heels of the Vikings' flight home from D.C.

I heard about this story for the first time today. Apparently this kid has zero chance of surviving. There is some good news though. As a result of his story people all over the world sent him and his family more Christmas presents than he knows what to do with.

To follow up this story Tebow is flying out Blake and his family to see the Broncos play their last game in Denver on January 1st. Guess this is why people love Tim Tebow.

Terminally Ill Florida Boy Gets Call From Tim Tebow

An 8-year-old cancer patient, Blake Appleton, received a much-needed morale boost recently -- a surprise phone call from his long-time hero Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos.

The call came this month at a particularly grim time for Blake and his family. Blake, a native of Lake Worth, Fla., recently had told his mother that he no longer wants to undergo cancer treatment after being diagnosed with a deadly brain tumor. "Without treatment, he may only have six months," his mother, Miranda Appleton, told MyFoxOrlando.com.

"We're in the restroom of all places, and he starts to cry," she said. "I asked him why he was crying, and he told me, 'Mommy, I don't want you to be unhappy with me, but I don't want to do anymore chemotherapy. I can't handle it anymore.'"

Blake's mother told MyFoxOrlando.com, "I don't have time to cry. It might be a moment I'm missing with him."

One of the family's happier moments happened last week, when Tebow, a former Florida Gators star, called Blake in the hospital and sent him a personally signed football.

It isn't clear how Tebow heard of Blake’s story, Tebow said in a post-game interview on Sunday that his most memorable moment of the week was talking with Blake.

A Saturday night MRI confirmed that Adrian Peterson tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee.
Reconstructive surgery will be delayed until the MCL heals, allowing doctors to operate on the ACL. The postponement is significant because Peterson's injury occurred so late in the year. It's possible that Peterson will be a candidate for the PUP list to begin the 2012 season. The odds will be against him playing in Week 1. Toby Gerhart will probably spend the offseason and 2012 training camp as the Vikings' first-team tailback. They may also add talent in free agency and/or the draft. Peterson just signed a seven-year, $96 million contract this past September.

I recognized the first and last name but didn't think she was actually related to the Rooney's(Steelers) and Mara's(Giants). She happens to be related to both

He's an incredible human being. I honestly don't see how some people don't like this guy. Unless he plays against us, I root for him to play well every week. It's great to see good people doing good things.

I'm not a fan of his either, but as of the last few years he's been able to back it up with those championship runs. Jacobs hasn't been relevant since 2006/2007.

Same here. She's a really good actress. And she really doesn't look anything like the role she's playing in Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. They had to really do a makeover for that role. Very cute girl.

It was a Saturday not a Thursday. That game took place on Saturday night.

That game was sched for saturday when the sched came out in april....it didnt move days.

Barring roof collapses etc. games dont change dates.
