packers will be #1 seed after 2nite and the lions locked up a wild card spot yesterday.

Depends on what the Falcons do tomorrow. If they lose to the Saints they'd be 9-6 while the Lions are 10-5. The Lions could then win in Green Bay and asure themselves a first round trip to New York or Dallas as opposed to playing in San Fran or New Orleans. If the Lions and Falcons finish tied, the Falcons get the nod and would go to either N.Y. or Dalls.

This is Tebow we're talking about here, he's the Chuck Norris of the NFL.

Thanks. I get a sense that neither Green Bay or Detroit will want to basically forefit their final game of the year to a division rival. I'll bet both teams play their starters regardless of what's at stake going into the final game.

Agreed, plus I'm sure the Lions would prefer to play the Cowboys/Giants winner rather than the Niners or Saints.

In NFL history these are the only 15-1 Super Bowl championship teams.

1985 Chicago Bears
1984 San Francisco Giants

If Green Bay beats Detroit at home next week and wins the Super Bowl they join that group. Not bad company considering those are two of the best teams of all-time.

It's 122.4 which beats Manning through 15 games. I give him the unofficial record right now given Manning only had two pass attempts in game 16.

With that dominating performance, Brees MVP chances are officially gone.

The packers already said some starters wont play at all while others will only play some of the game.

Why risk injury in a meaningless game.

bad bad year of injuries

the top player (debatable) at each position has went down or missed a lot of time with injuries

QB: Peyton Manning
RB: Adrian Peterson
WR: Andre Johnson, yeah he's only had hamstring issues but it's troubling when he injures himself twice and both times untouched

Starting QB's missing 5 or more games. Am I missing anyone?

Matt Cassel
Peyton Manning
Matt Schaub (backup Leinart went down with a season ending injury as well)
Chad Henne
Sam Bradford
Kevin Kolb
Jay Cutler

Oh I dunno... pride maybe? That use to mean something in sports. This benching an entire team due to playoff position being settled is a recent phenomena. Could be wrong but I don't recall Marino or Montana ever sitting out games for such reasons.

Especially so given the Packers are playing a division rival on their own turf in the final game.
