that would be chilling!

meanwhile if it is a rematch of Pats vs Giants, i can only imagine how furious Brady will be about the last game. losing the perfect season, losing his only Super Bowl performance. and if the Giants would win? Eli Manning beats Brady two times in the Super Bowl? and Eli would have more wins than his brother! talk about shocking lol

Not only that but look at the tough road the Giants has in 2007 and this season through the playoffs.

2007:
d. Tampa Bay (9-7) on the road
d. Dallas (13-3) on the road
d. Green Bay (13-3) on the road
d. New England (16-0) in the Super Bowl

2011:
d. Atlanta (10-6) at home
d. Green Bay (15-1) on the road
vs. San Francisco (13-3) on the road

Those are almost all brutal games, and mostly on the road. At least 5 opponents in these two playoff runs were 13+ win teams.

If the Giants win the Super Bowl this year I believe they'd be the only Super Bowl winner to have ever given up more points than they scored in the regular season.

Why I don't believe in New England....

Mediocre run game
Awful defense
Every other team remaining has an elite pass rush
1 win against playoff team(DEN)
Already lost to Giants in Foxborough.

Win was Tom Coughlin’s sixth on the road in the postseason, one shy of Tom Landry for the most by a head coach in NFL history. #Firehim?

Patriots beat the Giants in the regular season in 2007. A lot of good that did in the Super Bowl.

Patriots rushing ranked 20th in the NFL this season. Giants were dead last at 32nd with the fewest yards and worst yards per carry (3.5).

How are the Pats supposed to have more than one playoff win when they've only played... ONE PLAYOFF GAME?

But hey... why let facts get in the way of a "nice story."

You misunderstood me. 1 win against a playoff team. They lost to the Steelers and Giants, who were playoff teams. Technically they have 2 wins against playoff teams since they beat Denver twice, but it's still not an impressive win in my opinion.

I just don't think they are as good as everyone seems to think. Who have they beat this season worth noting? 1 playoff team, who weren't very good anyway.

Hey if our horrendous defense could hold Brady to 20 points, I'm betting the rapidly improving Giants defense could do something similar. Also betting they could drop 30+ on that defense, especially since their running game has come alive the last 6 weeks.

I have no idea why everyone is jumping on the Brady bandwagon. I bet he doesn't make it out of next weeks game.

Not saying they're some juggernaut. There is no heavy favorite left. New England played the schedule they were given and went 13-3. All three of their losses were relatively close - 3, 4 and 8 points. Then again it's more likely to be Niners-Patriots anyway.

By the way, the Giants won only one regular season game vs. a team with a winning record. The game against the Patriots.

Oh I dunno... because he has 3 rings, 4 Super Bowls, 2 MVP's, 2 Super Bowl MVP's, a crapload of playoff passing records and is probably the best QB of his generation? It's not a bandwagon, it's the fact that he's a consistent winner. And this is coming from someone who has rooted against him for over a decade now.

He is the greatest QB of his generation. Sure he has all that history but that don't mean squat on game day. Seriously football fans baffle me with all their stats and analysis only to come up a loser any given Sunday.

I'm not guaranteeing a loss either, just giving my 2 cents on this Patriots Super Bowl talk.

I have the Giants losing next week in San Francisco, but I do understand the Giants hype as they have been hot lately and have potential for very good games on both sides of the ball against any team. I wouldn't be surprised if they won or lost.

Yes he is, which is why I think they beat the Ravens at home next weekend, still think they'll lose to the Giants in the Super Bowl. Unless of course the 49ers surprise the Giants, in which case Brady will become the 3rd QB to own 4 rings.

Ya, we'll see. The Patriots had just as good of a team last season, going 14-2 and they still lost to the Jets in a game they really should have won. Any of these four teams has a pretty good shot at winning the Super Bowl. I'd just give an small edge to New England.

Honestly? Joe Flacco and Alex Smith don't belong this far into the play-offs and I think BOTH of them will prove it next weekend. Eli Manning and Tom Brady are easily the class of the QBs that are left.

In all honesty they don't "need" to do much. The Niners are successful because Alex Smith almost never turns the ball over and doesn't make stupid throws. The Ravens win with their defense, as they have for the past decade plus. Of course Flacco doesn't manage the game as well as Smith does. He makes a lot of stupid throws/turnovers.

An injured Joe Flacco put up this stat line 2 years ago in the Wild Card round in Foxborough...4 of 10 for 34 yards 0 TD 1 INT. Ravens won that game 33-14. Ravens don't rely on Flacco like the Patriots rely on Brady. Besides, I'm sure Flacco isn't scared of a defense that gave up 400 yards to Vince Young and 353 to Dan Orlovsky.

While I won't flat out pick a winner next week yet, I think alot of Pats doubters are forgetting that the Pats have owned the Ravens the last decade, that loss in the Playoffs a few years ago to them happened with a worse defense than they have now, no Wes Welker and no stud tight ends (Gronkowski & Hernandez)

I hope the Pats do advance to the Superbowl, however I don't want them to play the Giants, they just aren't a good match up for them

I looked up the Manning brothers playoff records.

Peyton Manning: 9-10 record
Eli Manning: 6-3 record

Pretty astounding really. And you can't really say Eli's record is better because he played on better teams. It's just not true. The two years Eli took his team deep into the playoffs - 2007 and 2011 the Giants regular season record was a mediocre 10-6 and 9-7. Peyton has been on countless 12+ win teams, but never gets the job done in the playoffs.

Peyton got it done ONCE in the play-offs, 2006 and a lot(like me) would argue that if the Bears had had a QB worth anything in that Super Bowl, Manning would still be ringless and the Bears would have 2 Lombardis.
