Yes I was reading and wasn't sure if he was a FA, but figured I'd take him if I had the chance.

if u put flynn in the right system w/a descent recv'r or 2, he could be a very capable QB.

i'd take a guy w/NFL experience over a rookie and have to groom him for 2-3 years.

The NFL sold tix to fans to be at mediaday today @ $25 a ticket & they sold out all 7,000.

& people were scalping tix outside the stadium to get in too.

The NFL is a $$$ making machine.

Giants winning the Superbowl according to Madden '12

The simulated game was conveniently over dramatic (and Gronk was moving far better than he probably will on Sunday) but these simulations have correctly picked six of the last eight superbowl winners. They also pretty much nailed the final score in the Cards Steelers superbowl (off by one point on either side).

Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reports that "people close" to Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) believe his career is over.
Two sources told Yahoo that the nerves in Manning's three-time surgically repaired neck are not just recovering slowly, they "don’t appear to be progressing at enough of a rate to indicate that he will play again." Manning has lost velocity on his passes, and the sources don't believe he'll regain it. Further, two NFL-affiliated doctors would recommend against the Colts paying Manning's $28 million roster bonus. It's believed Manning's rehab has "hit a plateau."

In our blu-ray Madden League last year, we had the Packers owner winning the Super Bowl the very same week of last year.

For Madden 12, our Giants owner is 9-5-1 and may not make the postseason. For the Patriots, he won his Division, but I don't think he's good enough to beat our Raiders or Ravens owner.

I still like having the wait period because sometimes players careers get elevated higher than they should be because of late sucess. Chris Osgood is a good example of that. Then there's other players who need the extra time for writers to remember how good of a player they actually were like Larry Walker and Tim Raines.

Its simple why they dont - Favre scenarios.

Favre retires - goes into HOF - unretires & plays again.

They dont want active players in the HOF.

O Dont get me started on the Chris Osgood stuff your arguments will be invalid.

3 Stanley Cup wins, he netminded main for 2 of them and game 7 during the 4th one
744 Games played 401 Wins 216 Losses 66 Ties 2.49 GAA .905 SV%

Compared to this guy 4 Stanley Cup Wins Netminded all 4 of them
1029 Games Played 551 Wins 315 Losses 131 Ties .910 SV% 2.54 GAA

Breaking down the Numbers sorry but Osgood is good enough to be in the hall, don't give me this team he had in front of him crap either success is success does not matter how it is achieved.

Obviously, they can't have active players in the Hall.

How many times has a Favre type debacle actually occurred. I say put 'em in right away. Waiting 5 years (and that's the best case scenario) is .

Funny guy you are. Comparing career totals given Roy played in the 80's and early 90's.

Here's their head to head numbers when their careers overlapped ('93-'94 to '02-'03)

Osgood:

274 wins 2.46 GAA .906 SV%

Roy:

326 wins 2.36 GAA .916 SV%

Roy crushed Osgood in save percentage and beats him comfortably in the other two categories. There's also a saber stat called goalie point shares (kind of like WAR in baseball). Roy: 120.3. Osgood: 76.7 during career overlap. Overall entire career Roy: 198.3. Osgood: 108.3

I think Larry is a Hall lock, yet 7 years after his retirement, he's still not in. His numbers and awards over his 17 year career are Hall worthy. Why do these writers take a decade or longer to decide if a player should get in. It's F*ckin infuriating. Fergie's our only countryman in the MLB Hall and Larry deserves to be in their with him.

As far as Ozzy goes...I'm not touching that one with a 10' pole.

Back to football...GO GIANTS.

Good call. The Manning's have been owning Brady since the 2006 playoff choke job by the Patriots. I expect more of the same on sunday.

Will he even get a ring though if the Giants win and he doesn't play? According to his stats, he hasn't even been on the field for a single snap this year. In hockey you need to have played in 36 or so regular season games or have at least one shift in the playoffs.

Maybe they will let him take the final snap, in victory formation... and he will get sacked.

How appropriate would that be after all those beatings he took down your way. I liked his toughness, he was certainly a gamer.

If anything, I'm chearing against Billy Belicheat because of the way he ran Bernie Kosar out of Cleveland in the early 90's.

You're right...that meltdown in Indy was one for the ages. If I remember correctly the Pats were driving down field at the end of the game for the win when Brady got picked or they ran out of downs. Nonetheless, it looked good on Billy Boy. I have nothing against Brady though and should they win this ballgame he will be considered by many as the best ever. He'll be tied with Montana and the "Louisiana Dimwit" with 4 Championships each.
