The Broncos have placed Kyle Orton on the trading block, sources tell the Denver Post's Mike Klis.
Let the Tim Tebow era begin. Klis says that Orton's "days as the Broncos' starting QB may be down to hours." They'll likely be seeking at least a third-round pick for Orton and then will reportedly sign Jake Delhomme to mentor Tebow. The Redskins, Dolphins, Vikings and Cardinals have all been mentioned as possible suitors for Orton. If Tebow wasn't on your radar as a sleeper QB1 before, he needs to be now.

Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich, who survived cancer and was considered by many to be the top undrafted free agent, has signed with the Giants. Herzlich was an All-American in 2008 before missing the 2009 season while undergoing treatment for cancer.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that the Titans are preparing a "huge" contract offer for free agent Matt Hasselbeck.
Lombardi's NFLN colleague, Jason La Canfora, is also convinced Hasselbeck is going to the Titans. "He fits what they want to do," says Lombardi. Hasselbeck will be viewed as at least a one-year bridge to No. 8 overall pick Jake Locker, whom GM Mike Reinfeldt and head coach Mike Munchak have both deemed not ready to play right away. The addition of Hasselbeck would bode well for Kenny Britt, Jared Cook, and running back Chris Johnson.

u s/b happy season tickets is a reality for you....if i put my grandkids on the waiting list for packers tickets (i'm 28), their kids MAY get them.

Apparently being out of football four years, 36 years old, trashing your teammates who won it all the year after you retired and just plain old being a poor husband which got you fired from NBC still grants you the ability to hand pick who you want to play for. What world is he living in?

The shortlist is Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay have pretty much said no thanks and why would Pittsburgh take him on when they already have Mendenhall and drafted another running back?

Look at this list of running backs available:

DeAngelo Williams, Ahmad Bradshaw, Darren Sproles, Michael Bush, Joseph Addai, Cedric Benson, Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Cadillac Williams, Clinton Portis, Jerome Harrison, Tim Hightower

That's a lot of players who are younger and who are all active players.

WFAN in New York reports that RE Osi Umenyiora will hold out of training camp if the Giants don't upgrade his contract in the near future.
The New York radio station cites sources on both sides (team and player). The Giants probably aren't going to budge, so this has the appearance of a potentially toxic situation. Perhaps the G-Men will consider trading Umenyiora. Stumbling blocks would be asking price (a very high draft pick), contract demands, and Umenyiora's medical concerns. He is recovering from offseason hip surgery, and wants a big raise on a long-term deal.

Michael Vick suggested Tuesday that DeSean Jackson may not report to training camp Wednesday.
Jackson, who is scheduled to make $565,000 this season, has been outspoken about his desire for a lucrative long-term contract. Vick seems to think that Jackson is prepared to force the team's hand. "Hopefully, he'll be here tomorrow," Vick said. "DeSean just has some things to think about and some decisions to make that only himself can make." The Eagles are in win-now mode and figure to work out a deal with their playmaker.

The Eagles aren't really in "win-now" mode without D-Jax. They did pretty bad when he was out after the collision with Dunta Robinson last year.

i was reading that the Ravens are dropping players to make cap space to get some FA's but really who are they going to get? they definitely can't afford Nnamdi and dropping Heap would be a terrible decision. He's good for another 4-5 years.

The Packers are getting rid of linebacker Nick Barnett.

“Just met with G.M. Ted [Thompson]. Thanks for the great 8 years. Very blessed 2 be apart of such a great tradition and great fans,” Barnett wrote via Twitter. ”Happy I was able to be here for the great xlv run… I will always keep a Special place in my heart for this team and city.”

The Packers will try to trade him but that could be difficult as he is due to make $5.875 million, is coming off an injury, and teams knowing he'll be released eventually.

I'm curious what the Bengals will do at quarterback this year. I can't imagine Andy Dalton will be ready, and Jordan Palmer definitely isn't the answer. The thing is they can't go sign a big name free agent because if they do Palmer could decide to show up to try and force a trade or release. Mike Brown is just being stubborn here and rather than help his team he'll let Palmer sit out the year, and then likely trade him next year for less than he could get if he traded him now.

Jaguars LB Justin Durant, and WR Mike Sims-Walker are both free agents. Could be valuable players for any teams that are looking for these 2 positions.
