Believe what you want, but you're dreaming if you think the Browns are gonna be good anytime soon with 3 playoff caliber teams in the division. While I agree with you on Ray only having a couple seasons left, they would still have a few players who are some of the best at their position when he is gone, not to mention new players coming in.

So Reed, Suggs, and Lewis play offense now? I hadn't heard.
Take it easy buddy. The Birds just blew their last chance at the Bowl with that "Wide Left" at Foxborough. JoeFlac & Ray's flunkies aren't "LEADING" the Ravens to the promised land...end of story.

His first couple years he did fine and then this year, the defense isn't as good, and his numbers fall. On the other side, look at Alex Smith. 49'ers had a top 5 defense this year and his number went way up. Obviously Harbaugh had something to do with that, but a solid defense helps a QB a lot more than a shitty one, which Brees had in SD.
The Jets only dropped 2 spots to #5 defense this year, right behind the 49ers. Who was right behind the Jets at #6? The Jaguars with Blaine Gabbert, who obviously benefited from that highly ranked defense.

Sanchez has always been bad. I don't know what player you've been looking at, but it can't be Sanchez. The Jets defense and running game may have carried that team in recent years, but they didn't make Sanchez a better QB. Alex Smith had a pretty good season this year and you're right, Harbaugh obviously had something to do with it, which brings me back to one of my original points that I beleive Flacco needs a new offensive coordinator(along with better receivers) to realize his potential.

We went to 3 AFC Title games (in 4 yrs.) in the "86, '87 & 89 seasons and lost all 3. As gut-wrenching as that was for me, I soon realized no one else gave a F**k.

A loss is still a loss dude.....No one else remembers or cares. (Sad but True).

Sanchez had a good 2010 season. Not great, but good. Started off the season on fire, then hit a lull, then picked it up at the end of the season and played great in the playoffs knocking off the Colts and the Pats in back to back weeks and almost beat the Steelers the following week to advance to the Super Bowl.

And yes, Flacco does need a different coordinator. That should be top priority. Second would be getting a good WR like Floyd or Jeffery in the draft.

Cam Cameron is coming back and as much as I like Floyd, Ravens would likely have to trade up to get him. I'll trust whatever Ozzie Newsome does and if he gets Floyd, I will be happy. If he drafts someone else, I will trust it is a good pick. I'm thinking they take linebacker or offensive line in the first round, maybe a project receiver later in the draft. I'm hoping they get a #2 or #3 receiver in free agency or trade.

Maybe they Ravens can go out and get VJax after the Chargers let him walk.

Ya know, because that is what the Chargers do. Keep AJ and Norv and let the good players go.

If anything the Ravens do not need to draft a WR. The problem has been lack of consistency and chemistry with Flacco at QB. I mean his first 2 seasons he had a whole different set of people to throw too.

They got Boldin to help but they needed more. They now have Boldin, Dickson, Pitta, Smith, and possibly Evans (though I hope he gets replaced, catch the damn ball and they make the SB). Plus Ray Rice and Vonta Leach out of the backfield both catch passes. The only things the Ravens should be looking for in this draft is O-line guys that need to be replaced (due to FA or whatever) and defense.

I never understood the whole shift to offensive mindset anyways. They won the Super Bowl with defense. They can do it again.

The only thing I really have to say negative is that Cam Cameron should've been let go. Two of the 4 regular season losses I directly contribute to his horrific play calling. Remeber MNF in Jacksonville? Let's [B]NOT]/B] use Ray Rice at all, cuz, ya know, HE'S AMAZING.

Losing Pagano sucks but there probably was no way they could afford to retain him over HC money.

I just read that Calvin Johnson, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, has a cap number of over $21 million for 2012. This is from his base salary of $14 million, a $4.5 million roster bonus, and $2.5 million from past bonus payments. The Lions want to sign Johnson to a contract extension but he certainly has the leverage. The Lions need to get Johnson signed to an extension to lower his 2012 cap number but if they can't and franchise Johnson his 2013 salary would be $25.2 million (120 percent of his 2012 cap number). There's a very good chance Johnson gets a contract similar to the 8-year, $120 million deal Larry Fitzgerald signed last summer.

ESPN has removed Ron Jawarski from Monday Night Football and will go with a two-man booth of Jon Gruden and Mike Tirico next year. Jaws will be staying with ESPN and will be a part of Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown, among other shows.

Chucky & jaws always hated each other, you could hear it on the show, but it must really have been bad behind the scenes for them to cut ties like this.

Buccaneers released DT Albert Haynesworth.
Haynesworth had no chance of returning at $7.2 million. The timing suggests new coach Greg Schiano wanted no part of the headache regardless. Failing to make a positive impact in seven games with the Bucs, Haynesworth played a part in one of the league's most embarrassing defensive showings down the stretch. While his talent continues to tempt coaches around the league, Haynesworth is running out of opportunities entering his age-31 season.

Agreed, 3 in the booth is too many...always has been. It always seems as though they're trying to find something for the 3rd guy to say, so he appears to be a part of the broadcast.

2013 Bonus: $20.5 million

I'm sure he doesn't mind rotting on his couch knowing he'll receive that next year.

Yeah, seemed like there was at least one deep throw every game where Flacco and Torrey Smith were not on the same page, but would have had a big play if they were. I don't really want a rookie receiver because of those type of issues, but if Ozzie thinks he should get a guy like Floyd or whoever else in the draft, I won't complain. As long as they acquire someone and it's not another slow possession receiver, I'm sure I'll be fine with the decision.

I never saw a shift to an offensive mindset. They used their first pick in the 2011 draft on a defensive player and their first 2 picks in 2010 on defensive players. In my opinion, their 4 best players are defenders. They are still a defensive team and I assume they will be for years to come.

The Redskins will. He was guaranteed 41 million but his contract was really backloaded so he only made 3.6 million salary per year for two years with Washington plus his hefty 2009 bonus.

$41 million guaranteed
Signing Bonus: $5 million
Incentives: $15 million
2009 Bonus: $21 million
2013 Bonus: $20.5 million

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tampa-bay...t-haynesworth/

49.5 million in 2013 if had decided to play at a high level for the Redskins and they decided against cutting him heading into the 2013-2014 season

I doubt they wouldn't have cut him though even if he was All-Pro. That's way too much money for one year.

I'm confused. The guaranteed money was the $5 mill + $15 mill + $21 mill 2009 bonus I thought. So why would he be due the $20.5 mill in 2013?

Regardless I'll be he's bankrupt by 2015. No way in hell that guy spends his money wisely.
