Not sure how cheap he'll be. Alot of teams needing a big, physical receiver may pursue him. Roy could turn out to be cheaper.

As long as Dez's ankle (and attitude) hold up the Cowboys passing game will be fine.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports the Vikings have agreed to send a 2012 sixth-round pick to the Redskins if Donovan McNabb agrees to restructure his contract.
The Vikings will also include a conditional 2013 sixth-rounder. Minnesota was also looking at Tyler Thigpen and Bruce Gradkowski, which tells you all you need to know about Donovan McNabb's value right now. The decision to abandon those two QBs also suggests a confidence that McNabb will agree to a significant paycut in exchange for a shot at leading what could be an explosive offense.
I've always liked McNabb and I think this is a good move by the Vikings if McNabb agrees to restructure his deal.

There is no way, especially after the '04 season that you could've convinced me that McNabb would ever get traded for 2 6th round picks. I still think of him as a top tier QB who got a raw deal from a coach that for no reason at all had a vendetta against him. He just needs to be more outspoken and more people would show him the respect he deserves.

Cowboys agreed to terms with OT Doug Free on a four-year, $32 million contract.
The deal includes $17 million in guarantees. The Cowboys gambled by refusing to franchise tag Free at $11 million, and it paid off despite the reported "dogfight" with the Bucs. We suspect that was overplayed by Free's agent in an attempt to drive up the price on the Cowboys. Free is tentatively expected to stay on Tony Romo's blindside this season, though it's not set in stone with top-ten pick Tyron Smith waiting in the

And with us keeping Moss I'm sure that will keep us out of the Holmes trade anyway.

You know the Vikings should of picked up McNabb last year. Regardless if Favre was returning or not.

Mark Sanchez said he's willing to restructure his contract so that the Jets can create room to sign free agents.
The assumption here is that Sanchez will restructure so the Jets can make room for premier free agent Nnamdi Asomugha. While the Jets can't pay Asomugha top dollar, the team is reportedly right in the thick of the chase. Sanchez can see the value in pairing top corner Darrelle Revis with the game's second best cover man.
Quote:
The Newark Star-Ledger confirms the Jets have "reached out" to free agent Nnamdi Asomugha.
This comes on the heels of an earlier report from ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Jets plan to "make a run at" Asomugha to pair him with Darrelle Revis. Multiple reports suggest Asomugha is willing to leave money on the table to sign with playoff contender, and Rex Ryan's squad fits the bill. Asomugha also has designs on an acting career, which may give the Jets yet another edge.
This is a scary situation for anyone who is not a Jets fan. I'm really surprised Sanchez is willing to potentially give up money, I think he is referring to Santonio Holmes when he said he is willing to restructure to make room. Holmes definitely makes him look better. Though this would be really bad if Asomugha is paired with Revis.

Schefter says Jets and Texans are favorites with Baltimore and Tampa Bay lurking.

Jaguars picked up LB Paul Posluszny from Buffalo on a 6 year deal. In years past, free agency killed us. They either don't perform, or they get injured.

Last season we picked up DE Aaron Kampman from GB. He was going to make it to the Pro-Bowl, but got injured. He got to every QB we've played when he was healthy.

Well and as good as Posluszny has looked at times he's had a TON of injuries. I think its a big deal, but again worth the shot depending on the numbers.

Adam Schefter says the Titans have agreed to a deal with Matt Hasselbeck. I don't really understand what the Seahawks are doing. They're entering the season with 3 backup QBs with Charlie Whitehurst, Tarvaris Jackson, and Matt Leinart. They won the division last year and the division is still really weak so if they get good QB play they would be a good bet to repeat but I don't think that will happen with that QB trio.

With the Vikings, Titans, and Seahawks resolving their QB situations it doesn't seem like there's anyone that wants Kevin Kolb other than the Cardinals, and if I were the Cardinals I wouldn't give up a ton for Kolb if there's no other suitors. I don't believe the Eagles would keep him and lose him for nothing after the season so the Cardinals should play hardball and also go after Kyle Orton, even if it's just for show to make it seem like they aren't set on Kolb.

You know, Chucky Dubs has really been playing a lot of nickel in the past few years. He really has given up full time duty of CB to the younger dudes. I think the Packers are going to pursue Asomugha harder than people think.

Sanchez isn't necessarily giving up any money, he's just changing the structure of his contract and potentially moving some of this year's money into a future year guarantee. He's making $14.5 million this year and that could hit $17.75 million with incentives, and that's way too much. The Jets should just sign Sanchez to a long-term extension now because he's shown he can be a franchise quarterback.

Regardless, even if Sanchez restructures I still can't see a way the Jets can afford both Nnamdi and Santonio. Santonio is going to go where the money is and isn't going to give the Jets much of a discount. He's been playing on his rookie contract and it's his time to get paid. The Jets also need to worry about David Harris. He signed his franchise tender but they need to lock him up long-term.

The Packers don't have the salary cap room. I believe they are barely under the cap as it is and they need to sign their own free agents plus rookies. If they start cutting a lot of people and Asomugha wants to take less to play for the defending Super Bowl champs with his old teammate, then they can be considered contenders in the Asomugha sweepstakes. I don't see it with Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams still on the roster. I think they like Sam Shields also.

Pairing Revis with Asomugha would be scary, but losing Holmes as a price?

Does anyone truly believe that defense is what held the Jets back the last two years? The team was already #3 in defense(Yards/game measurement), while being #11 offense. Is going to #1 or 2 defense going to offset dropping even further in terms of offense?

29 touchdowns and 33 interceptions over 2 years with 54% completion is a franchise quarterback now? They must have changed the definition. I am going to assume you are joking and this is what you want as a Pats fan. He could "potentially" give up money though, right? That is what I said. I think if it was as simple as moving some "guaranteed" money around in a contract in order to sign free agents, we would hear about this a lot more often.

Defense is not what has held them back, but imagine almost completely taking out 2 receivers from the opposing team every game on a defense that loves to blitz. You can't deny the potential greatness that could come out of giving Rex Ryan the 2 best cover corners in the league.
