He has taken the team to two AFC title games in two years. There's no other quarterback in the NFL over the last two years with that kind of success even if the defense deserves much of the credit. I don't care what his stats are, he wins games when it matters. I'm not saying he should get a massive contract, but they should lock him up long-term and get his cap number to a more reasonable amount.

chuck would be the packers saving grace if they had a chance to sign Asomugha....they are really good friends.....that and he'd be on a super bowl contender.

i wouldn't mind seeing chuck play more nickel and coming up to the line and leaving williams and Asomugha on the corners.

but the packers are really high on sam shields so if he can keep improving, they'd have a strong corner for a fraction of the price.

i was talking to my buddy last night and he said Asomugha will probably pull in close to $17 million/year on this new contract.

We've got our first signing by a first round pick. Former Iowa Hawkeye Adrian Clayborn, the 20th pick by the Bucs, has agreed to a deal. With some camps opening today and little room for negotiations there should be a lot of draft signing over the next few days.

Redskins agreed to terms with Donte' Stallworth on a one-year deal.
At age 30 and coming off a an injury-plagued season in Baltimore, Stallworth isn't much more than a flier. He'll provide depth behind Santana Moss and Anthony Armstrong as the Redskins are realizing Santonio Holmes is probably headed back to the Jets. Stallworth won't be on the fantasy radar as the No. 4 option in a passing game led by John Beck.

ESPN says the Jets and Santonio Holmes have agreed to a 5-year deal believed to be in the $10 million per year range.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/stor...es-sources-say

Edit: The contract reported contains $24 million in guaranteed money.

Whenever they brought him out onto the field, there was a very good chance they were running a reverse. He had more rushing attempts than receptions. It was pretty pathetic. He only had 2 catches. 1 long reception for 67 and another for 15.

McNabb to Vikings pieces all in place. Basically everyone agreed to it, now they are just working on details.

This looks to help Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin this year fantasy wise. And AP has to be SOO happy to get someone who can open up the running game for him.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that the 49ers have jumped into the race to get free agent Nnamdi Asomugha under contract.
Lombardi calls the Niners the Jets "main competition," and assures "they are in it strong." San Francisco can clear a large amount of salary cap space by releasing Nate Clements, a move that would surely happen on Thursday if a deal with Asomugha was reached. Writers on the 49ers beat have been slightly skeptical of an Asomugha pursuit, but never ruled it out.

The Ravens have the second easiest schedule (behind AZ) and looking at it I can easily see 12-13 wins. More of they can FINALLY beat Pittsburgh.

Great point from @sdutChargers: If Santonio Holmes get $50 million, including $24 million guaranteed, what will Vincent Jackson want?

Supposedly McNabb's feelings were hurt because the Vikings had initially tried to sign Tyler Thigpen and didn't go after McNabb until after Thigpen signed in Buffalo.

The Redskins signed QB Kellen Clemens. John Beck said yesterday that the Redskins were going to re-sign Rex Grossman so I wonder if the Redskins are really willing to enter the season with Beck, Grossman, and Clemens as their quarterbacks. That sounds a lot like the Seahawks "load up on backup QBs and hope one works out" plan.

lol he acts like he's mister nice guy but he's a diva too (T.O. was right about him)

I don't mind really, I'd personally rather see them throw out rookie QB's and maybe you get a Tom Brady, but since they won't win anything whose it really hurting (other than the paying fans I guess ) if they start blowing seasons off.
