Well I meant football as its not often a hall of famer that is still possibly in his prime at the QB position gets to pick whatever team he wants to go to. Favre was over the hill and long overdue, not to mention we all got tired of that soap opera. Favre is a diva in a sense while Manning is a complete opposite of Favre personality wise. It just seemed the Colts/Manning was a marriage to last forever. Just sumthin different about compared to the Favre situation.

As for LeBron that was huge news and pretty much ran the whole summer through fall and there was no bigger news than that but in hoop we have had that before but not in a sense of guys joining together. Again we have had big stories but this Manning story is kinda unique. Got Em!!

It was going on prior to the season ending too (Lebron picking a team).

I'd respectfully disagree. If it's at all possible financially to get him I think they have to go for it. Mario Williams is coming off the books, among others so it seems workable. Houston is a team of the verge of being top-tier, but try as I might I can't see Schaub as a Super Bowl quality QB. Super Bowls CAN be won by average to slightly above average QB's like Schaub, but it's rare. Nearly all Super Bowls are won with HOF level QB's. If you can get even 2 or 3 high-level production years from Peyton Houston is foolish not to go for it. Manning to Andre Johnson would be a dream combo and instantly make Houston a top-3 or 4 team in the league.

No his mechanics were considered too robotic, he was still supposed to be a top 10-15 pick. I believe he was actually in one of those rooms they put draft picks in and waiting and waiting and eventually left, then had to be told later over the phone that he got picked by the Packers.

You are taking the topic in an entirely different direction it was intended for. My point isn't that Favre was over the hill(which he wasn't his first couple of years after leaving GB), it was the hype surrounding whether he was coming back and who he was going to play for days, weeks. It doesn't matter whether things were going on or not. BTW Manning is not in his prime. He is on the later side of his 30's. People are really going to be surprised if they expect this guy to come out and just light up the league again.

I don't really see anything unique about this Manning situation. People knew this was most likely going to happen for months. There's nothing unique about except he won't be a Colt anymore. It's not even being that talked about right now. Yesterday was his day but until he signs with a team it won't be talked about that much as you making it out to be.

I guess it depends on what u watch and how u feel about each story. The reason I think this story is sorta unique and still shocking is because who wouldve guessed that Manning misses a season as durable as he is, then the Colts become the very worst team and gets the number one pick and are in position to draft the biggest prospect in many years and then they have to decide to they cut a legend who changed the way that city/state looked at football because it was purely a basketball state and believe I know. I am very curious to see the aftermath of all of this. That Favre crap got on my nerves and so thats why I aint to big on that story but again thats just the way these stories hit me. I also think Manning has a few pro bowl years left in him. Got Em!!

Well I think Manning could take one well placed shot to the back of the head and that be it for him, doubt his neck will ever be completely right again. Still think he should make the same decision Michael Irvin did and walk away while he can still walk.

Georgia tight end Orson Charles, who Mike Mayock lists as his #1 tight end in the 2012 draft, was arrested for drunk driving early this morning. I've never understood how an NFL prospect could be so stupid. He's a month and a half away from being drafted and this could change him from a late first round pick into a third round pick and cost him millions of dollars. If he feels the need to get drunk at least call a cab or hire a driver for the night.

Did you catch the best part of the story? He was also arrested for "driving the minimum speed" in addition to the DUI. Guess he thought he wouldn't get busted if he drove really slow.

Yeah what a dummy. Downtown Athens is littered with taxis he could've taken home. There are even free services run by the student organization for drunks to get a ride home.

Bummer if it costs him, but he has no one to blame but himself.

Re: "the best part of the story" -- I'd rather have a drunk driving slow than driving 90 MPH in a 35. Not that either is good.

He and his agent will have to get realistic -- I doubt a team will pay Max $$$$ for the new, unproven Peyton.

Denver Post is correct. Peyton Manning is en route to Denver to visit the Broncos. First visit does not mean Denver is leader in clubhouse.

If Denver signs Manning, what to do with Tebow? Trade him? Or have him watch and learn?

My guess would be watch and learn but it would definitely throw up a red flag for me if they do decide to bring in another QB to sit Tebow down again.

They could always put Tebow in as hybrid TE/WR/short yardage specialist. I think the kid's going to be a hell of an NFL player, just not as QB.

OH MY GOD Manning will become the Mr. Miyagi to Tebow's Daniel Larusso it will make tebow from just the average hall of fame qb to the greatest qb ever

He must go to Denver
