My coworker who has been a season ticket holder for the Jags since 2005 just told me if the Jags pursue Tebow and actually get him to sign. He's not going to buy season tickets anymore. I asked him why, and he told me he doesn't want to be a part of the circus.

Peyton Manning signs with Denver. Big freakin deal! All the sports casters are treating Manning like hes some kind of god but yet what really has he done when it counts? What won 1 Superbowl? I know Manning has had a good track record in the regular season but to me its what counts in the playoffs that matter and to date he has not done anything but win 1 Superbowl and thats it. Hell his brother Eli has won more playoff games and more superbowls then his brother has. But everyone on tv has been hailing him as the savior for Denver. Well Denver needs more then Peyton Manning to be a serious threat and with their O Line Manning better be able to scramble or he is gonna get his head knocked off. This is another Farve circus and in the end it will up the same way as it did with Brett. No Superbowl win. The best thing to come out of all of this Manning crap is no more Tebow talk or Tebow mania and from what I have heard and read Tebow is not wanted by any team in the NFL, at least for right now. Good luck in Denver Peyton because your gonna need it!

I think he'd be one of the few. Tebow would make this franchise, provided he had a decent supporting cast.

The Steelers are holding a press conference with Hines Ward today. They didn't announce what it was for but the only logical reason the Steelers would be holding the press conference is to announce Ward's retirement. Ward said he wanted to keep playing when the Steelers released him but after getting little (if any) interest in free agency he likely chose to retire.

I'm curious to see how Peyton's deal is structured, as in how much is 100% guaranteed and how much will he make in the years 1, 2, and 3, because I really can't see him playing longer than that.

Titans signed DE Kamerion Wimbley to a five-year, $35 million contract.
The deal includes $13.5 million guaranteed. Wimbley was already guaranteed $6.5 million following his release from the Raiders. He's an excellent consolation prize for a team that missed out on Mario Williams as it got bogged down in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, and should greatly improve a pass rush that notched just 28 sacks in 2011. That was good for 31st in the NFL. Wimbley has essentially been a 3-4 outside linebacker for most of his career, but he will play right end in Tennessee's 4-3 defense. He's notched at least 6.5 sacks each of the past three seasons. The Titans have a lot of pass-rush potential, with Derrick Morgan a full year removed from ACL surgery on the left end and the explosive, high-motor Wimbley rushing off the weak side.

Grahm Harrel is servicable as a 3rd string QB and w/some reps w/the 2nd team in practice s/b fine as a back up.

no need to bring Tebow Time to GB!!!

Pro Football Talk did a story on why Green Bay may have interest in Tebow. It goes back to McCarthy's comments on Tebow before the draft:

Quote:
“I’d love the opportunity to develop him,” McCarthy said of Tebow in March of 2010. “He’s a winner, and I’m excited to see what he does in the National Football League. He wins games, he’s a tremendous competitor and he’s like a lot of young quarterbacks; there’s some things he can work on to improve on. But you can see his tremendous passion in the way he plays the game, and it will be interesting to see who has the opportunity to develop him.”
It's unlikely the Packers will actually consider Tebow but it makes sense that they'd have some interest in him, especially if McCarthy believes that Tebow could be a good QB with some work.

Its basically 1 yr/$18m gauranteed.

Then about $20m/yr after that pending passing a physical in march 2013 & i guess each year after that.

I still think hes crazy not to be a 49er....cant believe him & hardhead harbaugh couldnt at least try it for a year.

Smart move on the packers part, I said he just needs quality coaching and support and I think he can make real strides (lets be honest no matter what he did in Denver he was never going to get the above two things)

96 million for 5 seasons, isn't that like ~1.5 million per game? Poor Tebow, its gotta suck to figure out your just a fad.

Steelers WR Hines Ward announced his retirement from football.
In an emotional press conference, the career Steeler said he considered trying to latch on elsewhere following his February release, but that he ultimately had no interest in wearing another uniform. "I can say I am a Steeler for life. And that's the bottom line," Ward said. "That's all I really wanted to do." It's possible Ward didn't receive a single phone call after what little remained of his separation skills disappeared last season, but he'll go down as an icon for a franchise that has many of them. A fearsome blocker, Ward will retire with exactly 1,000 career catches to go along with 12,083 receiving yards and 85 touchdowns. One of the toughest — sometimes dirtiest — players of his era, Ward has a shot at one day seeing his bust in Canton. We'd ultimately bet against Ward making the Hall, but Art Monk's recent enshrinement bodes well. Like Monk, Ward was a possession receiver.

It has been confirmed that Peyton Manning will be wearing #18 with the Broncos. There had some question over whether Manning would wear #18 because the number was retired in 1963 for Frank Tripucka. However, Tripucka said he'd be proud if Manning wore his number and said the number had been retired for 50 years and that was long enough.

He did indeed retire. Wasn't a more dedicated player on the field. He never took a play off. Even if you don't like him, you should still respect him.
