RG3 I can still see being a bust. It's not likely but I'd put at least 3-1 odds or so of him being a bust. At best I'd say he has about a 20% chance of being a better pro than Luck.
The problem with Luck is I see him going into a strong division with a Super Bowl contender and 2 solid teams and his team in complete upheaval. Ryan Leaf was a bust sure but I think a lot of that had to do with just how bad the Chargers were while he was there. Colts are going to need 2-3 perfect drafts in a row to really help Luck out, he can only do so much all by himself.

The Colts have plenty of time to improve. The Colts went 3-13 in Manning's first season and 32-32 in his first 4 seasons. And if he's a franchise QB as almost everyone (myself included) believes he'll make the guys around him MUCH better. Just look at what happened to Indy with and without Peyton. They went 10-6 with him in 2010 and 2-14 with him out in 2011. Peyton made ordinary receivers like Pierre Garcon look like Pro Bowlers. Same with the Saints once they signed Drew Brees. All a franchise QB needs is a halfway decent team around him to lead his team to a 10-6 or better record these days.

While I think Luck is probably better suited for a team like the Colts, I think he'd be bad in our situation, RG3 is much more equipped to deal with the Oline situation then Luck.

I'm not sure it's a huge difference really. When a team lands a premier top-tier QB that team very quickly adapts by tailoring the team around that QB. Colts did it with Peyton, now they're starting to do it for Luck. I'm sure the Redskins will do the same for Griffin. It can take a few years though. That's just what the game has become over the past decade or so. It's completely passer-oriented.

Well yeah, how can you tell which conference is the best one? By which one has the best QBs and right now the NFC has most of the good QBs, so they'll probably be winning most of the Super Bowls for awhile. At least the AFC is getting Luck, which should help a bit if the Colts can return to form any time soon. Just glad that inane suck for Luck campaign is long over.

Sorry but Twitter is legit. You'll find that all well-respected members of the media, as well as pro sports organizations use it.

You're also going to find breaking news on there way before anywhere else.

On Barber.. I can't really say I'm surprised that he retired, given his running style. And i have to give him some credit for going out on his own, instead of spending a few years not making rosters and being repeatedly cut.

It is funny how much sports reporting has changed. Until a few years ago my most trusted source was ESPN. These days it's become Twitter and Yahoo Sports. I even trust TMZ over ESPN.

I think the real problem is the number of people espn employes is insignificant to the amount of bloggers, sites, and personal writers/ insiders, that now have direct feeds to the fan bases. Also ESPNs credibility has gone the way of pandering to banter more then reporting (but thats just my op)

ESPN's main "football news" sources are Chris Mortensen and John Clayton and those two are never right. Another reason I never watch ESPN is most of their reporters are idiots like Chris Berman still using the same weak schticks and gimmicks they were using 20 years ago. Well that's more Chris Berman but still.

I really think ESPN, after it became media monster, basically got fat and lazy off of past success. These days they rarely ever break stories or have any huge investigative stories. Especially with college sports how often do you see ESPN breaking a open a huge scandal anymore? Almost never. The USC Reggie Bush scandal and the Miami football/Nevin Shapiro scandal were both busted wide open due to Yahoo Sports reporting. ESPN also has a big problem with stealing stories from others and pretending they broke the story. But I do agree with social media has also contributed to ESPN falling behind the times.

I've always liked Adam Schefter, aside from the fact that he doesn't spell that well and he works for ESPN. Donnie Avery is with the Colts, guess they're taking a low risk flier to get Luck a weapon.

Berman is so annoying. If I'm watching anything on ESPN and he comes on the screen I either mute it until he is gone or just change the channel.

As far as ESPN goes, I get their text alerts for major sports stories and NFL and NBA news. I think they are pretty fast. If I'm just looking for NFL news online, I mainly use Rotoworld.
