Here we go again. Leaf was lucky to get off with probation on his last round of drug convictions. Wonder why he was never charged with grand theft for the money he stole from the Chargers.

I guess Leaf isn't taking the news that he's no longer the biggest bust in NFL history very well.

Former Charger Ryan Leaf arrested

Authorities say former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf has been arrested in his Montana hometown on burglary and drug possession charges.

Great Falls Police Sgt. Dean Bennett says Leaf was arrested Friday afternoon.

The circumstances surrounding Leaf's arrest are not immediately clear. Bennett says he hasn't seen a report detailing the allegations.

Cascade County Detention Center Officer Robert Rivera says Leaf was booked on charges of burglary of a residence, theft and felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

Leaf was freed on $76,000 bond and is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Monday.

The former San Diego Chargers first-round pick has had several past run-ins with the law. In 2010, he pleaded guilty in Amarillo, Texas, to various drug charges and was sentenced to 10 years' probation and fined $20,000.

Well he is a coach somewhere, can't remember where exactly atm and if he really is a drug dealer, $76,000 is probably not that much money for him to get his hands on.

The Eagles have "reached out" to free agent OT Marcus McNeill after losing Jason Peters to a torn Achilles' tendon.
McNeill and Demetrius Bell are easily the top two tackles on the free agent market, so the Eagles know where to look. Bell is scheduled to visit the team this weekend. McNeill could be next. McNeill's market has been painfully slow after he was released by the Chargers in mid-March over medical concerns.

He was an assistant coach at West Texas A&M but got fired in 2008 for trying to get his players to give him pain pills. Since then about all he's done is get busted time and time again for burglary and various drug charges. He's been in and out of drug rehab multiple times.

San Diego businessman Jaime Cuadra plans to bring the USFL back as a true NFL minor league.
As opposed to the UFL, the new league will allow the NFL "unfettered access" to players, allowing them to be promoted at will like baseball's minor leagues. Players will also receive salaries well beyond the level paid by the Arena League. The USFL is targeting markets that have neither NFL nor major-college football, such as Portland, San Jose, Salt Lake City, Sacramento, Memphis, Raleigh-Durham, Birmingham, Omaha, and Akron.

I kind of like it if we got to see good college players in it . And it was covered enough on tv. I'd watch.

College players cannot play in paid leagues until they leave school, it's against NCAA rules.

Bill Parcells will likely take the coaching job for the next nine months

Remembering when Parcells quit, or said he was done, is always a fun thing when he seems to be taking the whistle and clipboard out of the closet to coach again. Going back in history four times:

The Dolphins love them some Ryan Tannehill

Club officials, including GM Jeff Ireland and coach Joe Philbin, dined with Tannehill in College Station Wednesday night, then spent about 90 minutes with him on the greaseboard Thursday after the workout. Any doubt now that Tannehill won't get past No. 8, where Miami picks?

Noted NFL Films analyst Greg Cosell says Tannehill is a more accurate passer on the run than Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III, which is something to say for a guy who played wide receiver for two-plus seasons while waiting for the quarterback job to be his in 2010.

It's pretty clear Cleveland and Miami are the leading candidates for Tannehill. I think he'd be a better fit in Miami because, after 19 starts at quarterback in college football, he may need a year of seasoning and time to get used to a new system before feeling the weight of a franchise on his shoulders. And right now, Matt Moore has more security -- and faith from the fan base in Miami -- than Colt McCoy has in Cleveland. One bad month and the fans would be calling for Tannehill in Miami. But one bad half in Cleveland and the chants for Tannehill would begin. Check out what Moore did in the last nine weeks of the regular season versus a rather prominent Super Bowl hero:

Cosell also said that Cousins and Osweiler suck, which only leaves Wheeden as a viable option, but I'm not sure if he's worth more than a 3rd or 4th round pick since he only has 6-7 years left.

I always worry about the QB's that just appear in the first round. I mean even guys who went late at some point were considered top qb's (except for the rare ones like Tom Brady)

There seems to be a lot of debate on where Brock Osweiler will be drafted. Osweiler had his pro day last week and after it Gil Brandt of NFL.com said Osweiler had "vaulted himself into the first round." However, Charlie Casserly of CBS Sports said he talked to 9 teams and 8 of them rated Osweiler as a fourth round prospect and 1 team had him as a second round prospect. Michael Lombardi of NFL Network also said that you could never consider him a first round talent. Osweiler has received an invitation to the draft (he hasn't decided if he'll attend) but that doesn't mean as much anymore as the league invites a lot more players now, with 25 players attending the draft last year.

So after being arrested a few days ago for burglery and drug charges and bailing out of jail Ryan Leaf committed another felony burglery in Montana Sunday and was arrested today. This fool is really screwed now.

Two days after posting bail for drug and burglary charges, former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf has been arrested a second time in Montana.

Central Montana Drug Force Commander Chris Hickman says Leaf was arrested early Monday in Great Falls and is facing charges of burglary, theft and two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. He also is being detained on a probation violation.

Hickman says the new charges stem from a burglary on Sunday -- two days after Leaf was arrested and charged with burglarizing an acquaintance's home for prescription painkillers.

Hickman declined to detail the allegations against Leaf regarding the latest burglary.

Leaf has a court hearing later Monday. Hickman says the probation violation does not carry a bond, so he cannot be released from jail.

Leaf really needs help, he obviously has a very bad addiction. Regardless of his prison sentencing, I hope the state of Montana realizes how badly he needs rehab.
