A source tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the Cowboys have not scheduled a pre-draft visit with Memphis NT Dontari Poe because they "don't want to draw attention to him."
This info comes two days after SI's Tony Pauline reported Poe was the "apple of (the Cowboys') eyes at the No. 14 overall pick. Per beat reporter Clarence Hill, the Cowboys "like him a lot but don’t want to draw attention to him." Hill also notes that every player Dallas has picked first since 2005 has visited Valley Ranch before the draft. In 2005, DeMarcus Ware didn't visit.

Williams has long loved the phrase, “Kill the head and the body will die,” and he used that phrase in talking to his players. He also specifically told them to go for the head of 49ers running back Frank Gore.

“We’ve got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Frank Gore’s head,” Williams told his players. “We want him running sideways. We want his head sideways.”

Williams also talked about trying to inflict a knee injury on 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree and referenced 49ers receiver Kyle Williams, who has had multiple concussions.

“We need to find out in the first two series of the game, the little wide receiver, No. 10, about his concussion,” Gregg Williams told his players about Kyle Williams. “We need to [expletive] put a lick on him, move him to decide. He needs to decide.”

This guy really needs to stay banned from football at any level forever. I have no problem with a defense that hits hard, but to target weak spots like the head and knees on purpose is just ludicrous.

Everything about Dontari Poe screams workout warrior. Every scout says Poe looked terrible on tape and didn't seem to be trying very hard and the stats back that up as 5 times last year he only had 1 tackle and he only had 1 total sack last year. I see could Poe being the next Vernon Gholston.

Yeah too often, especially in the draft, Jerry makes a risky move to try to look smart and instead ends up looking dumb. I will say it might be a smokescreen since we usually invite our picks to the Ranch before the draft and we haven't invited him.

Glad to see it. We always seem to be in need of corners. With this being Jimmy Smiths second year and Webb healthy I think we have a great starting duo.

Now they just need to take Dont'a Hightower in the first round of the draft to fill Ray Lewis' big shoes when he leaves.

You say this like other coaches don't do it as well, it's an every level kind of thing and the Saints were the idiots that got caught. Williams is done in the NFL though.

I still can't believe how open Williams is about the whole thing. He wasn't even using codewords or anything. He was flat-out saying exactly how to injure opposing players by name at major team meetings.

I would forgive him not having the stats being a nose tackle, but I can't forgive him for the bad tape. If you are a top talent playing at a school like Memphis, you should show up on tape. I would not take a chance on him the 1st round.

The thing that really bothers me about the Saints Bounty story was that Peyton even told Williams to stop because the investigation reopened during or after the Wild Card game against the Lions, but continued on heading into the Division Round against the Niners. Gregg Williams had total control of the Saints defense during his time there, but then blame would also go towards the head coach because he would also be responsible for this ordeal regardless if Peyton knew if this was continuing or not. I just can't look at the Saints organization the same.
