NFL Network's Mike Mayock indicated on Path to the Draft that he wouldn't pick North Carolina DE Quinton Coples regardless of round if Mayock were general manager of an NFL team.
Mayock concedes that Coples oozes talent, but wouldn't be on his draft board. "If I'm a GM, I'm not taking him in the first round," said Mayock. "I might not take him in the second round. The bust potential is high." Mayock went on to explain that he couldn't find "any" strong senior-year tape from Coples. While we still expect Coples to be a top 10-12 pick, he certainly seems to present risk.

Bad news is, Ireland likes big and talented guys. But I think a guy like Philbin will look at work ethic first.

I feel so lost with all this draft talk, I'm usually on it studying potential first round picks, but since the Raiders don't even have a pick first few rounds, I could care less

Oh hai Carson Palmer! In related "news" Raiders officials have said they will now be looking at more than just speed in potential picks.

It would make more sense taking Tannehill at #8 and hoping Courtney Upshaw falls to 2nd round. But the guy I want at #8 is Ingram.

Upshaw's going to be a top 20 pick, pass rushers are coveted, especially after seeing what teams like the 49ers and the Giants did last year with talented front sevens.

There's a good chance all these players go in the first round. The players that are likely top 15 picks that aren't attending are Iowa offensive tackle Riley Reiff, Stanford guard David DeCastro, and Boston College linebacker David Kuechl.

The Redskins are reportedly "making progress" on a new contract for free agent ILB London Fletcher.
According to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, there is a "real push being made" by both sides to finalize the deal in time for Fletcher to participate in offseason workouts on Monday. Expect a deal to be announced for the 36-year-old team leader this weekend.

A source tells the New Orleans Times-Picayune that unsigned franchise player Drew Brees is "very upset" he won't be able to attend the Saints' offseason program beginning on Monday.
With all due respect to Brees, he could attend if he really wanted by signing his one-year franchise tender. "It is very upsetting to him not being there Monday," the source said. "He wants to be there for his teammates." The Times-Picayune confirms that contract talks "have been practically nonexistent" between Brees and the Saints over the past few weeks.

Actually he can show up if he wanted to....he doesnt even need to sign his tender.

There is a clause that says since only the saints retain his rights he is allowed to be there.

According to SI's Tony Pauline, there is increasing chatter that the Jets' "primary strategy" for the draft is to acquire South Carolina DE/OLB Melvin Ingram.
Ingram is a terrific scheme fit for Rex Ryan, who coached up a similar player in Adalius Thomas with the Ravens. Pauline suggests the Jaguars at No. 7 as a partner if New York trades up. The Jets would almost certainly have to get there, because the Dolphins (No. 8) and Panthers (9) will like Ingram, too.

I would say the Saints locker room is probably just as volatile, imagine the defense is divided and the offense is probably either siding with or against Brees.

I disagree. Most Dolphins fans are smarter than that. Ben Volin from the Palm Beach Post brought up an interesting point. He said Tannehill will determine if the Dolphins are rebuilding or not. If they draft him at #8, they are already thinking 2013. If they take an impact player at a needed position, they want to win now. The latter is my best guess.
