Lol You want to measure a player by looking at their two worst games? I guess Aaron Rodgers is just an average QB judging by his Chiefs/Giants games.

they also said he was mediocre when he was 0-1 in the playoffs.

then all of a sudden he was 4-1 w/a super bowl ring!!

I hate him too because he's a Giant but he's still one of the top 10 QBs in the NFL and one of the few I'd take over our Tony Romo.

Aaron Rodgers has stats Eli still hasn't been able to get even at his "best" (he'd probably have more yards, had he played that extra game and had another 89 attempts like Eli). And nobody said they're better, I just pointed out they lost twice .

I don't think anyone thinks he isn't a top QB, I just don't think he's in the league where its like "I want to go see Aaron Rodgers. I want to go see Tom Brady" It's like goofy Eli Manning meh I'll go watch him.

Agreed; he needs more seasons like last to be in that category. I was just saying he had a great season last year and should not labeled as overrated.

It's just a ceremonial gesture. And most guys do it if they plan to go into the Hall of Fame with a certain team. Tomlinson is clearly going in as a Charger, not a Jet.

Wrong....players do not go in as a member of a specific team.

Are you sure? Not to start an argument, but I'm 99.9% sure I've heard that somewhere. Might be bad info, I know I heard it.

"Enshrinees do not go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of a certain team. Rather, all of an inductee's affiliations are listed equally."

The problem with classifying Eli is that fact that his regular season numbers year after year are good, but never great. He throws a lot of picks, his QB rating (82 for his career) is modest and the Giants typically don't win 12+ games like other top-tier QB's like Rodgers, Brady, Peyton Manning, etc. But in the post-season he wins a lot of huge games. We're always going to go to have a hard time ranking Eli among the top QB's in the game as long as the other top QB's are throwing about 10 to 15 more TD's and fewer picks than Eli in the regular season.

However on the Pro Football HOF's website players are listed as primary players under a team they played with the majority of their career. Like Emmitt Smith is bolded(signifying a major part of their primary contribution) under the Dallas Cowboy HOFers but he is also listed under Arizona Cardinals but not bold.

Yeah that's why I tell people these 1 day contracts are ceremonial, players go in as themselves, the teams they played for are irrelevant in that sense. Oh well, people can believe what they want, just like I believe in his prime LT was one of the top 5-10 backs of all-time, being #3 ever in TDs says a lot.

Thats because youre looking at the "teams" subcategory.

If you go into the actual alphabetical listing of hall of fame players it lists all the teams/years.

Great line from Ochocinco who said ever since 1988 he's played "Madden" with the Dolphins.

That was my intent. To show that they are separated somewhat by the teams they play on. I have heard people make the claim that a team has 16 HOFers or whatever even though they have 28 listed. People only care about the HOFers that were primary to that team. Just a bragging rights thing I guess. No one is going to think of someone like Warren Sapp being an Oakland Raiders HOF player, they will of course think of Tampa Bay. Or Larry Allen being a Cowboys HOFer and not a 49er and so on.
