The Cops' side is it was closing time, the Cops asked him to leave, Peterson shoved the cop and had to be restrained.

Of course AP's side is that he got jumped with no warning.

I'm not sure why this would be a "Resisting Arrest" charge, but if the Cops' side is at all accurate it wasn't what I'd call a shakedown.

Then the fact that he's only charged with resisting and not assaulting an officer leads me to believe it's a BS charge. Sounds very suspect. I'll bet all charges get dropped.

I'm no expert in US law, but I don't see how an off duty cop acting as security can suddenly grant himself full police status over something as minor as this.

Well for example, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to even pretend to assault my brother-in-law the federal marshal, not sure if that applies to this other cop though, who's probably not a federal marshal.

I believe if a situation presents itself his cop powers are ok for use. A guy on an audi or bmw board said he got pulled over by a cop in an a&F shirt and flip flops and got a ticket.

Does this explain things? We have a prison society in the U.S. Many reasons for this, but namely the rise of the "war on crime" not coincidentally occurring right around 1980 when Reagan was elected and the rise or for-profit prisons. It's a con game that's been going on for over 30 years now. This is how people get arrested for "resisting arrest" even though they didn't even commit another crime.

both! A venture capital firm with a subsidiary that dabbles in private prisons, and possibly weapons manufacturing. Also I'm not totally sold yet, but if we have some free time possibly start a health insurance division
