Both Matt Kalil and Dontari Poe agreed to contracts today, leaving Ryan Tannehill, Justin Blackmon, and Kendall Wright as the only unsigned first round picks.

Same here. I'm not big on holdouts but MJD has a point here. A RB this far into his career and this good should not be making <$5 mill per year. Unless his deal is re-worked he's probably never going to see a big deal like he deserves given his age.

Sad day DUI and Drugs

Quote:
Colt Brennan’s arrest saddens fans
Michael Green, Brennan's attorney, said his client was pulled over after he was observed driving 45 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone.

Brennan, 28, was released from the main police cellblock at 12:15 Thursday afternoon without being charged. Green would not reveal what type of illegal drug was found by police, but Brennan's arrest for promotion of a dangerous drug in the third degree rules out the possibility of marijuana.

According to state law, a dangerous drug is one that has no medical use, like methamphetamine and cocaine, or a prescription drug that can be abused.

"It was not pills," said Green. "It's not a lot of stuff; it's a very small amount."

The Steelers signed receiver Antonio Brown a 5-year, $42.5 million contract. Receiver Mike Wallace is a restricted free agent who is currently holding out, and it seems like a near-certainty now that the Steelers are not going to give Wallace a long-term deal. Wallace reportedly wants a contract similar to Larry Fitzgerald's 8-year, $120 million contract, while Pittsburgh reportedly offered him a 5-year, $50 million deal. At some point Wallace will have to report at some point and play out his $2.7 million tender, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he holds out into the season.

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette cautions "do not be surprised if Steelers trade Mike Wallace during training camp."
We fully expect the Steelers to listen to offers now that they no longer believe they can sign Wallace to a long-term deal. Dulac reports the team's brass called Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Antonio Brown, hours after Wallace failed to report for the start of camp. Rosenhaus and the Steelers then spent two days hammering out a deal for Brown while Wallace twisted in the wind. The franchise proved two years ago with the Santonio Holmes trade that they won't hesitate to make an example of a player who won't get with "Steeler-Way."

I don't see Wallace getting traded because no team is going to give him a contract that will satisfy him. In addition the only way the Steelers can trade Wallace is if he signs his one-year tender and it's unlikely he'd do that during training camp without a new deal. Wallace is a good receiver but he's getting a deal anywhere near Fitzgerald (or Calvin Johnson) but it seems like he's going to have to become a free agent to realize that.

Redskins, Cowboys (if dez has a bad year and more incidents), Jets, Ravens, all them are WR needy.

I'm hearing he might go to the Colts but as fate said it's unlikely to be in a trade due to his attitude and contract demands. I doubt he'll go to us, we're set at the top 2 spots and with Witten in the fold, a solid #3 is a luxury not a necessity.

The only set team in the nfl is the redskins with RG3

That's ridiculous. Wallace isn't in Fitzgerald's league. Nobody is giving him that kind of money.

It is if Dez or Miles get hurt which has been quite often the past couple of seasons. We need a reliable number 3. Whether that happens with what we already have or through another Laurent Robinson falling in our lap but we need that number 3 because of how fragile Dez and Miles are.

Well yeah but they seem to be content to go forward with what we have which isn't much considering the early favourite seems to be the useless Kevin Ogletree.

I just want to see him do good if he's getting sacked cause Jbrown is out or WIlliams is smoking pot, or WRs are dropping good passes and they go 3-13 I'll be ok... I just want to see GOOD football. But if its him air balling it or hes out 12 games because of injury I'll be in full tilt panic mode.

Quote:
And now only two unsigned first-round draft picks remain.

That's because, as CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman confirms, No. 8 pick Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins have agreed to a deal.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth four year and $12.688 million. ESPN's Adam Schefter writes that the Dolphins included offset language into the contract (which means the team won't have to pay him if it releases him before his contract is up and he finds a new NFL job).

But Tannehill supposedly wasn't willing to miss more practice time while fighting that offset language.

The No. 9 pick in the draft, Luke Kuechly, does not have offset language in his contract, but the 10th pick Stephon Gilmore does. That means Tannehill is now the highest draft pick who will have offset language in his rookie deal.

According to Schefter, however, the “Dolphins made concessions to make [the] deal palatable.”

The only unsigned draft picks remaining are No. 5 Justin Blackmon with Jacksonville and No. 20 Kendall Wright with Tennessee.
Now his wife can go shopping!
